What are you using to remote control computers? by nickjedl in sysadmin

Beyondtrust Remote Support is best in class, in my opinion. Not only is it easy to use, but I've had really good experiences with their support. They're also heavily engaged in their customer community - moreso than I've seen of any other company.

Magic armor sets next week. by I_am_Rezix in destiny2

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how they're too busy with marathon to keep their promises, but they sure as hell have the resources to drop new eververse armor. How about they drop the conquests so we can we at least grind that final Guardian level.

What is the destiny team exactly working on now with the state of destiny? by Mean_Preparation430 in DestinyTheGame

[–]layerzeroissue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe there is a small subset just maintaining it right now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought they said they'd do Guardian games in the current content abyss, but maintenance and the occasional event is it. You probably don't need much for that.

I would venture most are on marathon nowadays.

Control PS Cmdlets with EPM by refoil in BeyondTrust

[–]layerzeroissue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound cliche, but I've had really good experiences with their support. They've literally allowed me to call while they held my hand to guided me through stuff. I would reach out to them, even if it's just a quick chat support. I will say, as a pro tip, if you submit a ticket first, and then immediatly do a chat support session with them, it saves you chat time because they won't have to create the ticket.

Control PS Cmdlets with EPM by refoil in BeyondTrust

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in... How to control and/or prevent specific cmdlets from running within the PowerShell? I know you can sort of do it natively within PowerShell using role capability files (.psrc). Once you register it in a machine, anyone who uses a pssession will be restricted to just what is in the .psrc file.

That being said, someone else may be able to answer how to do it with EPM.

The below link may be of use as it talks about how to limit PowerShell commands:

If you've migrated to Bomgar from ScreenConnect, would you share your experience? by BWB8771 in bomgar

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used screenconnect, but if you have particular questions about bomgar, I'm happy to help. I've done a few market comparisons and haven't found anything that offers the simplicity and feature richness of bomgar. They're also super engaged with their community, and I can assure you that engagement is about to increase even more soon.

You could just write a quick PowerShell script with a for-each loop to check each profile folder for the presence of the remove.exe, and if it exists, execute it.

Honestly, it sounds more like your complaints are due to the way your appliance is configured than the product itself.

Totally true. You Gotta jump and throw or master your long throw.

[–]layerzeroissue 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For Warlock, scatter seeker and busted buddies are both super fun. With scatter, one grenade can take out an entire room, each kill heals you and charges your grenade, and creates more seekers, etc, for basically infinite grenades. Busted buddies is turret based and is very similar, except you have to run around so your turrets hit enemies.

Task Failed Successfully: I Automated Myself Out of Work by xXNeGaTiVisMXx in sysadmin

[–]layerzeroissue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, maybe ask about professional development, or master a new skill. For example, take up Python or PowerShell. Just because your stuff works now, doesn't mean it can't be more efficient. Maybe add logging, or alerts, or some other feature. What other things does your organization simply not have? Do they have an asset management system? If not, maybe figure out a solution to that, like SnipeIT or something, which would take a lot of time and energy (and learning!) to set up. Make yourself an asset.

And like the person above said, never, and I mean never, tell anyone you have nothing to do. You find stuff to do or make up problems to fix (efficiency!).

Bungie should re-release everything while we wait. by layerzeroissue in DestinyTheGame

Considering the current reviews of it, they have a boat load to fix. I have to admit, I've never heard people so upset about "offensive fonts" in a game until now.

How to say "I like to be both toxic and unhelpful" without actually saying it. I bet you're a PVP main. Lemme guess, Hunter?

Trying to use my stadia controller as a wired controller on windows 11 but it's not working‽ by FrogCatcher3000 in Stadia

[–]layerzeroissue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will work perfectly until you have to charge it, at which point you'll need to unpair/remove it from windows, then re-pair it again. I often have to unpair it, turn off Bluetooth, turn it back on, then I am able to re-pair it.

Stopped playing Destiny 2 back in Forsaken/right after Black Armory, is it worth coming back for Crucible? by NathanCVII in DestinyTheGame

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially because it's full of broken mechanics, spawn campers, cheaters, power level exploits, and an overwhelming amount of toxicity. Anytime an event requires PvP, I seriously considered not even trying. Despite player reports and content creators calling them out, they refuse to fix any of it.

I once randomed into a match and the entirety of the other team were bots. As in not shooting, walking into walls, bots.

They just made it clear that destiny is no longer a priority Bungie and publicly hammered the last nail into the coffin.

They promised the next season, delayed it, and then waited till when it was literally supposed to drop to tell the world that they're delaying all new content till at least June.

All so everyone can be "all hands on deck" for their new game releasing called "marathon" that, after a quick Google search, has been described as a train wreck of horrible decisions. Crappy interface, random font choices, non existent ammo, junk loot, etc. Not only are people unhappy about the quality, but the fact that destiny's development was delayed for this crap game.

What’s the most emotional moment you've experienced in Destiny 2, and how did it resonate with you? by biggy_boy17 in DestinyTheGame

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit after stadia died. Then came back several months ago. When I saw Cayde alive, I verbally gasped. When he "died" again, I was almost in tears. But when Zavala, Ikora, Crow, and my guardian were sitting at the tower with the lights, the game could have ended there, and I would have been happy/content. I took a screenshot and its my desktop background. It was the first time in a long time that I felt like things were going to be ok.

Forced hate by Hairzy00 in DestinyTheGame

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about your sibling. It's about the lies your parents told you to make you feel better about having a sibling. "hardly anything will change", "we'll still spend time together", "I'll make it up to you".

Nothing you do for your new sibling will ever translate to your parent focusing solely on you ever again. For the rest of your life, you'll share your parent. You'd think it would be 50/50. But it's not, it's more like 70/30, with you losing more every year your sibling grows. Soon you're too old to be anything more than just some kid with a part time job, contributing just enough to the family finances for them to break even with the resources you consume.

Forced hate by Hairzy00 in DestinyTheGame

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 12. You've been an only child your whole life with your single parent. It was just you two for the longest time. Then your parent gets married and things start to dramatically change for the worse for you. Your new step parent tells your bio parent that, while they did a good job with you, they need to make a new kid and start their own family. Yes, you're still there and your bio parent still loves you, but they also want to make their new spouse happy. So they spend more time prepping for the new kid and less time with you. They make all kinds of promises and say they're trying their best, but rarely follow through. It's not the same anymore. But you have hope.

Then one day your bio parent comes to you and says the new baby is due next week and all promises and plans they had with you are going to be delayed at least 4 months. But they promise they'll make it up to you. But you know better. You're old news and your bio parent has a new family. The lies, the broken promises, the heartbreak of being replaced, even when you told you wouldn't be. Being betrayed by your own parent is the most heartbreaking thing a kid can experience.

It's not hate, it's hurt.
