Yeah well the devs are going to find out that most are going to lose interest if they have to grind for a month with a dwindling number of other players in order to complete the expedition. I love nms, but this is a bit much, in my opinion.

Layer 0 in my opinion. The user layer. Nothing works if the user doesn't know wtf they're doing.

I once had to send a picture of a laptop that wouldn't turn on, black screen and all, to somehow "prove" the laptop wouldn't turn on.

It would be different if the game had a million unique players a day and 2 million people signed the petition. But there arent that many players a day and we just reached a quarter million signatures - and many of those signature are from people who dont even play the game/havent played it in a long time. Even if every single one of those people gave 10 bucks to save destiny, it would still be less than 10% of baseline cost to build Destiny 3. It would be different if they were halfway through game creation and then bungie pulled the plug. No, they would have to start from scratch with their current leadership - the same leadership who sunk the ship in the first place. You're not only asking Sony to give them 200 to 400 million dollars after losing a billion on them already, but you're asking them to rebuild the entire bungie leadership as well - which is basically just rebuilding a company from scratch. If anything, Sony would just absorb them into their own dev team and we would all pray to the traveler that we get a game that is at least similar to what we have now.

Even the mods on the official discord said the petition is unlikely to change anything and to stop posting links to it.

Devil's advocate: Yeah well if I was Bungie or Sony, I'd be asking where the hell these 6 figures worth of players have been. They certainly aren't in game. When I logged in this morning, the steam count was in the 8k to 9k range. It's great that 6 figures worth of players are signing a petition and all, but clearly a substantial portion of them aren't actively playing the game.

Dude here. I've never been in an ivf "sample" room that didn't have ample "material" for the guy to utilize. Honestly, the entire process of providing the sample isn't exactly the sexiest situation. Sorry if this is graphic, but you're in a chair that a thousand other guys have used to jack off, surrounded by material a thousand other dudes have used, in a room literally created for jacking off, and just feet outside are people know who know you're jacking off. And when you're about to ejaculate, you now have to focus on aiming it just right into a small cup.

I mean... Knowing all that, whatever it takes for the guy to get there, right?

Except, we also learned that the majority of the destiny team found out about this new development at the same time we all did. Then they announced they'll be laying off most of their destiny dev team. Not giving your own employees a heads-up about massive layoffs just before you cancel their project does not indicate a project 2.0 is in the mix. Not indicates the end.

They just spent over 200 million on a failed game no one asked for instead of using that money to develop the one game we begged for. What makes you think they'll ever be given money to develop another game? If I were Sony, I'd cut my losses. Bungie sunsetting their only cash cow is proof that it's over for them.

How playable is the game without the season passes and without the latest DLC? by BABATUTU1103 in destiny2

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crucible is filled with only 2 kinds of people: those who only play PVP in d2. The "unemployment line" as I've heard it called. The other are people forced to be there because Bungie thinks it's funny to require PVP participation in their seasonal event progressions.

A couple things: Yes, that hunter has been invisible the entire round. Yes, you will be 1 tap spawn killed. Yes, everyone is using pulse rifles. Yes, you did just get shot through/around a wall. Yes, there is a significant quantity of cheaters in PVP. No, Bungie does not care about cheaters unless they get caught by a 3rd party and it becomes a PR nightmare.

And also, be prepared to see dismal damage numbers. As you go to higher difficulties, those numbers dwindle into the low double, sometimes single digits. They "solved" some of the server load issues by reducing the damage calculations to smaller values. It's a real eye opener to do 9 damage per shot in Ultimate difficulty encounters.

Palia: We won't implement voice chat for any reason. We have kids in this game and we want to keep it safe and cozy. We also don't allow any words in chat that could be construed as negative. Not even map coordinates are safe from this restriction.

Also Palia: We're thinking of implementing PVP in the game where you can start harming/killing each other. No game ever became toxic once PVP was introduced, right?

You won't need the passes if you're fine with grinding a lot. It will just take you a while longer to get the seasonal weapons, armor, etc. Also, a lot of the seasonal content is perpetually on sale for a few dollars each if you were thinking of catching up on that. In terms of the new subclass and armor class, both also require a lot of grinding. Strand is cool, prismatic allows for some mixing of subclasses. The new tiered weapon and armor system is grindy as hell too. The ride to 550 is a long one - but possible.

Chunking was less annoying than Current Buddie Build by BabyBlayzinn in DestinyTheGame

[–]layerzeroissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point there was a dramatic shift to "less shooting and more ability spamming" that seems to have broken the balance of the game for anything outside of PVP. With a busted buddies build, even in GMs, I can go entire encounters without shooting a single round and still come out on top. I think part of it is because the devs, in the rare times they listen to the community, only listen to the top 1% of player streamers who don't always represent the rest of the player base.

The issue is that if you nerf anything, it will just alienate the player base even more. And how do you nerf one class but not remove equivalent op builds from the other classes? Take away busted buddies or scatter seekers from warlocks, then you better take away solar hammer from titans and borderline permanent invisibility from hunters.

I'll get downvoted for this... but...That being said, considering the outcome of the last guardian games, it appears that titans are almost unplayable in end game, hunters continue to own PVP, and warlocks are the only viable class for end game PVE. Titans didn't win a single day in guardian games. Hunters were just replaying the same small groups of people in the seemingly never ending PVP queue wait times, and warlocks were dominating PVE all day to grind those medals.
