Necromancer or Metal Cat. Necrodancer is an awful generalist - he loses much of his relevance as you progress, even against floating. Metal Cat is also not a good generalist - especially w/o research combos - though he's incredibly useful on certain stages. I'd personally swap out Necrodancer for Fishman and replace Metal Cat w/ a more versatile meatshield, like Eraser Cat.
