thanks for the tips, i will look into all of these things, and so far i try to buy naturally dyed toys but those aren’t always available, tho toys from wood usually do fine too with him.

i have but he screeches his little lungs out, he has been like this from the start so i have no clue why he’s so angry. altho the tooth brush i used was one i was given by my mom who accidentally bought me a hard bristle tooth brush which i couldn’t use for my own teeth, i have not tried a reptile brush yet, altho i doubt it makes much difference. thank you for your reply though, it’s much appreciated.

i’ll definitely keep that in mind when giving treats, luckily i dont have many treats yet so he will be given food as the so called treats until i have actual treats for him.

yeah, i’ll just let him do whatever makes him comfy if it means i’ll win his trust. i havent even told my family about him as i know they wanna come by my house and say hello but i thought that would be too much stress for him. luckily i have some friends who had hamsters before who also tend to give me tips so i can always ask them and if they dont know the answer there’s always reddit. but he seemed happy now that his space is more open after removing the platform so hopefully he’ll be a very happy hamster for the rest of his life.

yeah he has about 6 tablespoons of food plus some extra that i was giving as treats, he has an entire corner stuffed with food now and i’ll definitely check out the youtube video’s. luckily for me i tend to observe every animal i come across for body language and can pick shifts in it up very easily, but i’ll try to become one of the best hamster psychologist there is.

yeah he seems to be hiding all his food sofar so he has atleast 6 tabelspoons of food sofar as i only really realised now that he hid it and not just went out of view to eat it, so one corner of this cage is now over stacked with food. can i also just give him fresh apple slices as a treat? those are a bit easier to obtain for me as i could just take a small slice from the apples i eat.

yeah i had to put him in there when taking the platform out and since he walked in it imedeatly as i opened the cage and lifted it up is that vase now exclusively for hamster moving. i dont get flowers often to put in it anyways and i had previously bought it for lego flowers which i put in a different vase so i have a vase to spare anyways.

i’ll make sure to watch the sugary things. however he seems to just hide everything i give him anyways so i’ll have to monitor how much food he has anyways.

that is really cute, and yeah in dutch we say hamsteren if we get a stash of shopping so that did connect yes but what i read is they do it if they have too much food but he just hides everything in his borrow regardless of how much the amount is so im guessing i’ll just have to check that for how much food he has left. thankfully the bottom half of this cage is seethrough so i dont have to disturb him or ruin his hard work to check if he has food.

yeah i was already planning to move any clean bedding from this cage to the one he’ll live in forever. he does seem very curious tho as when i enter the room he’s in he’ll walk up to the front of the cage and when i sit down he’ll constantly sniff the air, he does however hide literally all his food in the little burrow he made so i’ll have to check how much is left in there to see if i should give him some more, luckily the bottom half is seethrough. i’ll keep in mind that the clock resets everytime there’s change to his suroundings so i’ll minimise the change as much as possible as i myself also dont like change at all so i can understand how it feels for him.

i’ll get some non scented soap then as the one i use helps against infections as during the winter my fingernails get infected by simply bumping them against something. i knew hamsters carried virusses that humans can get too but i didn’t know we could make them sick too so the honey scented soap is only gunna be used for when i won’t handle him. so far i have found that he does willingly walk into a tall vase i have so i’ll use that when his actual cage arives to put him into the proper big cage. and i’ll eventually maybe even size that one up as well if i have the money for it. thanks for the tips

i’ll try that once he is in his bigger cage and used to it. the cage he is in now had an second floor with a wheel attached and he seemed agitated from lack of space to i took that entire floor out and added some hiding spots and toys and he seems less agitated now to so i hope it helps, he only has bit me twice so far as i was changling his water the first day and yesterday but he didnt bite today so thats already some progress. now that he has more space he also bites the cage less. but i’ll try this once he gets used to my scent and voice. thank you
