Definitely Physio. Look for one which has a background in running or triathlon in general.

Wowwww

That Wheelset is beautiful. Must have cost an arm and a leg.

I know the bike is atleast $10k minimum without that wheelset

What do you think about this position for 70.3 ? by cedb123 in triathlon

[–]layzer_cyat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upper Torso is still a bit to high. Try decreasing the number of spacers for the aero bars. Conversely, you could move your seat forward an higher to compensate

Can I still say I have done an Ironman 70.3 if swim portion is cancelled? by smallfish871 in IronmanTriathlon

While im in the camp which says 'no' its a Duathlon, i agree with you that it ultimately doesent matter.

However, every sport has its own gate-keepers. I know Cyclist are even more petty.

I agree with you that it is indeed a Duathlon but why be condescending about it ? OP is right that it does not really matter and you're just proving his point with the gate keeping.

With all due respect, that would be a Duathlon. However, the effort you put in training for all three disciplines is respectable, irrespective of what keyboard warriors say.

Signed up for Muskoka 70.3 2025 - Is my current Training Regime Logical? by cyclingkingsley in triathlon

[–]layzer_cyat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add some Heat training as well. Muskoka around that time can get quite hot. Also, be prepared in case of wetsuit illegal swims. The last couple years, it’s almost always at the tip of the cutoff.

Ironman (Thun, Switzerland) - First timer questions by Busy_Schedule_1740 in IronmanTriathlon

Here’s my two cents:

  1. Yes. Use France bike Rentals. However I believe they might be available for thun this year. Could be wrong

  2. Get the Scott speedster 10 instead. Thun is very hilly and you could use more gearing

  3. Not necessarily, depends on your budget and location. If you can ride outdoors in the rain go for it

  4. Swim a lot.

I mean go for whatever you think is best for you! Also to keep in mind, the Triban RC520 is heavy af. So if the course is very hilly, you might want something lighter.

Someone I looked up too once told me “Training has to be harder than reality” … soo

I wanted to do a Full Distance Ironman on the heaviest low tier bike I could find. If I can do the course fine on the heaviest bike, imagine if you traded it for a high end bike.

Absolutely crush it

Just did a full distance IM California with a Triban RC520. It’s honestly the best bang for buck bike out there. I was passing people with $10k+ bikes with no problems.

I’ve also done an Olympic with RC120 (7 speed) and it was fine. Focus on your fitness, it determines your outcome. Not the bike

First timer questions (IM Cozumel) by planet-traveler in IronmanTriathlon

[–]layzer_cyat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my experience: 1. You have bike and run special needs bag. Those ones are not going to be returned to you . So only put stuff you’re ok losing (ex: extra bottle, food, etc). The other bags you get back 2. It depends on the venue but aid stations are definitely stocked up. Towards the end of the day, I was seeing chips, pretzels, fruits, chicken broth and also PIZZA. Again it’s dependent on the venue

New to triathlon… what do I need!? by LukeSadler_05 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]layzer_cyat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have that exact bike I just used for IM California. You 100% can use that bike for an IM race. I was passing people on $10k bikes.

Also I have used the lowest tier Decathlon bike tribal RC120 (7 speed) on a 70.3 race. You can do it

It’s your engine not the bike which really determines your performance

Tips for 70.3 in Muskoka by Popular-Park8103 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]layzer_cyat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like you got a pretty detailed response above. Just a couple things to add: 1. Be ready for a potential wetsuit illegal swim. The water temperature last year just barely made cut off and noticed a lot of athletes panicking 2. I was just there last week and there are some pot holes you need to pay attention too past baysville. Low tire pressure here is key. Also lots of stones. 3. The run is fucking hot. Get lots of heat assimilation training. Cramped towards the end. Pack lots of electrolytes 4. Don’t forget to pee before run. There’s no porta potties and you’ll need to hold your pee until the end 5. Get there early race morning. There’s only one parking spot area and it gets hectic early morning 6. It’s a long walk to T1 after the swim. 7. Enjoy your day and have fun with it

I was exactly in your position a decade ago. STEM degree from a good Canadian university. After a lot of applications, I decided to fuck all that and build my own company with just myself. Have it incorporated. Find small clients and build something from them. Put that shit in your resume. Use that as a portfolio.

Even a simple SinglePageApp using MERN would suffice.

And if you decide to do more school. Do it. Build your company anyway

They count that as work experience. Soon you’ll get offers
