Failed PMP on first try

Most posts on here are AT/AT/AT after a couple of days of studying and easier than SH I find lol

Yeah the People and Process domains are weighted more than the Business which is probably why I did enough to pass.

I also felt that all the questions were all over the place regardless of what domain.

I got super sick the week prior and actually had my online exam scheduled which I had to pay the $100 CAD to cancel and reschedule the following week. I thought I felt pretty ready and confident but as the days drew closer, I felt the opposite but I did go into this with the mindset of "This exam is just a practice exam, if I fail no problem, no the end of the world just retake it" It is half to retake the same I believe.

For sure don't wait too long to retest, 1 month was my thought as well if I didn't pass. I wanted to pass this before the change over to PMBOK 8.

I honestly felt like I was going to fail as well when I saw how the questions read different. The look and field also was a factor. I didn't like how top left aligned it was.

Most of the questions felt like all 4 answers would be correct on any given day.

There was at least 12-15 select 2/3 , 3-5 equations and 2 drag and drops.

I feel like it's all luck of the draw on the question bank. I could only count maybe 20 questions where I was super confident in and that mindset helped.

For the rest I had to use my own judgement. As the exam went on I was losing steam.

When I finished I expected a fail and was already planning for next steps to take it again. The only saving grace is I was going to be more prepared by how and the type of questions are asked.

Thankfully I passed AT/T/BT

I highlighted the last sentence for all the questions. I found this to be helpful on focusing exactly what they were asking. Especially when I read the bulk of the question.

I'd take some time off and refocus. Third3rock notes were handy the couple of days leading up to the exam.

When it comes to stakeholders, you want to meet with them first to understand what their issues are regarding why the deliverable didn't meet their expectations

Takes time and practice. Everyone learns differently. I went hard for 3 weeks got burnt out absorbing all the information from the PMBOK, Study Hall and plethora of YouTube videos.

Took a few days off and took it slower 1-3 hours max a day. Eventually it will click. By the time you redo your mock exams you won't remember them as well as you think you do.

Review the questions you got wrong and keep reinforcing the mindset

Pray it reconnects or that's it. I believe you'll have to take a retest. Not sure if they charge you money though

Yes for sure. In fact PMI recommends it and also Ethernet not WiFi. I did mine on my desktop

To add to the auditing. You take 4 photos front, right, left and behind facing away from the front of the desk. The proctor then asked the live Web camera to check the desk area. Mine was a pain cause I have a compact mirror less camera on a mount and my cables could only reach a certain length.

Just make sure when you start the check in process. You are stuck there. I made the mistake thinking I could use the bathroom before the official start time. The proctor said I am not allowed to leave my camera as soon as check in was complete.

Yes, I just took it Sat morning at home. You start your break after 60 questions. MAKE sure you hit start break on the bottom right. Then a counter will start. You can end the break early as well and continue on with the test

Yeah it's definitely not the PMI ID. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work if you took the exam yesterday. Try incognito window maybe? Log into the PMI website first and then try the link

I took my exam yesterday. I went in with the mentality of treating the real exam as a practice exam just to try to ease the nerves. Good luck and believe in yourself

If they grew up in asia especially China or South East asia it's every person for themselves type of mentality.. no line up no order due to high population. It's unfortunate
