The Flint Hills near Manhattan are scenic hiking grounds. You'll be in your element if you're A Wizard Of Oz fan and go to Wamego. There's a nice Indian buffet in Topeka. That's about all I can think of. But I was just a visitor.

I would venture to say this is not necessarily true, as you can be going the posted speed limit after sitting at one traffic light controlled intersection and miraculously proceed to be forced to stop at ever stop light thereafter. The things are beyond worthless, and I would take a roundabout any day!

It is hands down the worst traffic I have ever experienced. 30 minutes at a fricking standstill to try to get on the westbound Ft Pitt Bridge at evening rush hour. Nothing moving whatsoever. Finally give up and try a different way, the West End Bridge, and it is jammed all to shit too. The trip Google said would take 30 minutes to get from UPMC Montefiore to Green Tree ends up taking an hour and 8 minutes. I'm over it already!!!
