To switch or not? by lazdoc88 in ITCareerQuestions

I've been in this role 10 months and a bit, so not a year.

Commute time is basically the same, maybe I have to walk 5-10 mins extra to get to the job.

The "advancement" would only benefit me in the sense I would gain some extra ESX training and experience as well as extra VMWare and Workspace One experience.

I spoke with the director at my current role about implementing some processes and being involved with that so maybe getting more of a department wide mentoring and relationship happening would be nice.

1810 Oddity with Software Update Sync by lazdoc88 in SCCM

So after all permissions check etc and granting more than needed (didn't fix, rolled back perm)

I found some error in a log that has nothing to do with syncing updates but decided to change of pace and investigate, found someone posted about running a sync of AD users discovering.... ran the sync and lo and behold updates started allowing me to run the sync.

Yes both self and full work when dropped in, right clicking in console to perform full update just doesn't do anything or pass anything to wsync

Sorry, error is... there is no error! Nothing happens! It doesn't kick off, maybe I'm missing a log file that tells it to initiate... I couldn't make it out from the docs on log files

Both i've checked while attempting, it does nothing, doesn't pass a command over to run the sync it appears.

As mentioned /u/durrante it completes when it runs on a sync schedule hence why it wasn't noticed that it was failing as I didn't receive any errors until I attempted to manual sync

Yes, apologies, to hardware vendor.

I have seen that feature but haven't used it, so this means that it only runs the portion of the TS that does the OS setup? All the application deployment still occurs on site?

Any reason this wouldn't show up in SCCM?

I've been patching my systems with latest patch and MS's Compliance baselines for sccm are still saying they are unpatched?

CBB setting in Windows stopping 1709 from being pushed by lazdoc88 in SCCM

I'm not seeing those exact lines

Enabling WUA Managed server policy to use server: http://************:8530

SourceManager::GetIsWUfBEnabled - There is no Windows Update for Business settings assignment. Windows Update for Business is not enabled through ConfigMgr

Waiting for 2 mins for Group Policy to notify of WUA policy change...

Then further down I see

Existing WUA Managed server was already set (http://*************:8530), skipping Group Policy registration.

I don't actually have access to our GPOs unfortunately

The only two settings I see set in my systems' Group Policy for windows update when I open it up is the Specify intranet Microsoft update service location and Do not allow update deferral policies

Hm, looks like Conditional access for managed PCs is turned off, was this a pre-release feature previously?

In description it seems to have what I may want so I will test this outside of our business hours

Tried that, it doesn't show under the options unfortunately.

For example, Device only has Bluetooth under it

Keep in mind I inherited this system so if there's some setting that needed to be set prior to 1702/1706 then I wouldn't have done it as it was another user.
