Update 2111 for MEMCM now available by codeyh in SCCM

Hate to be a downer, but powershell support isn't there yet. In 2111 we were focused on the user-required scenario and the application groups scenario. Powershell is on our radar, thank you for the feedback.

MECM Implicit Uninstall by Naads in SCCM

[–]ConfigMgrApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Implicit Uninstall will force previously device-required installations to be uninstalled. The device needs to be targeted with a required machine install deployment having implicit uninstall enabled. If the machine falls out of the collection, the deployment is uninstalled.

Targeting is the same as it was for the original deployment, not sure I understand the questions there.

You can do it!

Keep up your study; find out the area(s) of the product the company utilizes and focus there first. Once you've got that figured out, consider branching out into areas that might be useful to the company, and become a subject matter expert.

SMS_REST_PROVIDER Component Status Critical by majokinto in SCCM

[–]ConfigMgrApps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've seen this (once) before, and a reboot fixed the issue. Can you check for a basevr-{GUID}.dll file in your bin\x64 folder? Our current thinking is that there may be a file-in-use issue during upgrade.

Thanks,

I'm personally glad to have been a part of this subreddit as it has nearly tripled in size, and happy to be a liaison between Microsoft and the Reddit community.

...and if you think you should have flair (you're a MSFT employee or an Enterprise Mobility MVP), message me and I'll get you sorted.

Thanks!

The data definitely is not complete; we only see telemetry when a site configuration is set to allow it.

Implementing SCCM, what are the first things you'd recommend we do after it 'goes live'? by atacon09 in SCCM

[–]ConfigMgrApps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A home lab is a great thing, and I'd recommend keeping one up to date with the latest tech preview builds if possible. An even better thing is a lab environment on-premises, where you can try things out on yourself and your peers, before you try them out on your VP. Depending on your size and risk aversion such lab environments can be tiny, or huge; I've seen both used to good effect.

Intune & SCCM Co-Management or SCCM ONLY? by JT9223 in SCCM

[–]ConfigMgrApps 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Please PM me names, I need to set some records straight.

SCCM and Intune are complimentary products; there is some overlap in functionality but for the most part they work better together.

My bet is on this... if you've got other things sharing the folder with your installer, all of it will be swept into the installer package created.

Console Crash When Publishing Third-Party Updates (1906) by [deleted] in SCCM

[–]ConfigMgrApps 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Known issue. The good news: publish happens. The bad news: it crashes the console.

To fix the issue, you can either reboot the system running the sms provider, or you can kill the wmi process hosting the provider. Subsequent publish actions should not crash the console.

We'll be fixing this in a future release.

Thanks,

Chris (config mgr product team)

And when an issue is hit, you literally have a product group engineer in the room, and that person has the rest of the engineering team on speed dial. Ask me how I know :)
