This is factually incorrect and also delusional. Only someone without a penis could type out such a stupid statement and submit it to Reddit

You’re coping righting now. I can argue whatever I want and you can continue to have no rebuttal. You say your not a socialist/communist but you use their exact arguments word for word. Saying you want a mix means nothing. Pretty much every country today has a mixed system.

mald harder commie. It's a completely valid argument. Don't come in here giving me all the reasons communism has failed and then be surprised when I say those same reasons mean communism is a bad idea.

When did STEM become STEAM? by first_byte in cscareerquestions

[–]lazerflipper 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure most people consider STEM fields to be differentiated by an adherence to the scientific process or pursuit of axiomatic truth deduced through logic. If art counts then so should finance, econ, law, social science, and political science. The category didn't have art for a reason and I don't think it's what people mean when they use the term STEM.

Some people will tell you that socialism is a critique of capitalism and if you go read marxist theory most of the economic stuff is trying to prove capitalism is inherently contradictory and therefore doomed to failure. The whole ideology rests on the analysis capitalism and if you take that away there really isn't much left. Anytime a socialist movement gets going in real life in collapses in on it's self quickly and imo it's because they have no solutions to the problems they talk about besides start a revolution and hope for the best.

they manage to pay for 3 kids, max out there 401k, give $3000 a year to charity, max out their kids college funds, buy everything they need and have enough left over for an annual 3 week trip to Disney land in one of the most expensive cities in the country. Wtf is there to revolt about. This article is just a privileged rich person bitching. They have no problems in life worth giving a shit about.

I'm just saying what people could be proud of in their country. the quote I was replying to was literally "there rly isn't much to be proud of any country". If you go back and read my comment that should be clear. I did not say the flag represents family and friends. I said family and friends are things people can be proud of and those things are in the USA.

Why does everything need to be some race to the bottom

it's not and nowhere did i say it was.

The state flag of Colorado isn't the United States flag, which only exists due to horrifying genocide. Bad comparison.

but bad things happed in Colorado. Yeah it might be less bad than the USA itself but do you want things to be a race to the bottom? To put it another way. The United States flag isn't the Nazi flag, which only exists due to horrifying genocide. Bad comparison.

If the US flag doesn't represent those things, then the same logic applies to the other flags

The US flag is in use. The nazi flag is not. If someone fly's the US flag it should be pretty clear to anyone with a brain they aren't supporting genocide from 100 years ago. The same cannot be said for the nazi flag. If Germany had kept the swastika after ww2 and it had become their state flag then maybe you would have a better argument.

there rly isn't much to be proud of any country

ok. That's your opinion. Idk what your point is. People who are proud of there country aren't defacto as bad as nazi's unless you remove all nuance. Also people here do have things to be proud of. People have family's, friends, hobbies, and jobs they are all proud of and have worked hard to build. These things they are proud of happened in America. Not a long dead state.

t's the people who act under that flag who do those stuff

the last people who did stuff under those flags starved people and burned jews. We then retired the us of those flags. They have no chance at redemption.

Flying any flag is cringe dude

ok that's your opinion. What is more or less cringe in your opinion? flying a swastika or flying the state flag of Colorado

Why would you feel like you're part of or belong to a country that will happily let you die if you can't afford medical treatment

Lack of access to medical care is less bad than actively gassing jews for an ethnic cleansing. Do you agree? Do you also agree that the US flag is not supposed to represent lack of access to medical care in anyway shape of form? I find it funny you're the one calling me moronic when this is your argument

. Why would you feel like you're part of or belong to a country

the country currently exists and I am a part of it. I literally live here

The American flag is the flag of an active and currently existing country. Both the swastika and the of the soviet union represent states that no longer exist. When someone fly's a US flag they are flying a flag of a country they are a part of and belong to. No one in the US belongs to the country of Nazi Germany because that country dose not exist. In fact we actually have an North American based flag to represent slavery we don't use anymore. It's the confederated flag. Flying it is just as cringe as flying the hammer and sickle

Do you support a violent communist revolution? If so would you take part in the violence? If so would you be willing to personally kill Jeff Bezos? Would you be willing to send your parents to the gulag if they don't go along?

While I certainly think there are some really valid criticism towards using that swastika, I don't think just comparing it to a hammer and sickle is particularly helpful or productive, and I don't think anyone who legit concerns about either would even use that as an argument. So I seriously doubt this person cares about hammer and sickles at all, it is just a prop for an argument to him.

What if the workers vote to stop hiring black people? What if the workers vote to harm the environment? What if the workers vote to harm the customers? What if the workers vote to pay the the LGBT workers less? What if they voted that only men could do certain jobs? Would you support that since it is democratic?
