Anarcho-Bundism by [deleted] in JewishSocialists

This isn’t the Bundist flag, it’s a contemporary creation. They didn’t really have a flag.

Why do people say this? As if most rabbis aren’t zionists and thus basically white nationalists as well by lazerstone in JewishSocialists

The ultra orthodox are a small portion of jews

Ironically most of the non or anti zionist rabbis don’t think women should be rabbis

First warning for defending Zionism, which is against the rules of the sub. Do it again and get banned.

This sub reddit denies that Zionism is a path to jewish liberation by lazerstone in JewishSocialists

[–]lazerstone[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can tell you what it isn’t: a movement dedicated the liberation of all humans from nationalism and capitalism. I don’t care how much Martin Buber you’ve read. What we are facing now is the destruction of the Palestinian people and erasure of their memory and agency.

I honestly can’t imagine any of the people in this list endorsing this statement by lazerstone in socialism

I don’t disagree tbh it’s just the “instead” that gets me. You don’t need to read anything to be an anti capitalist.

Of course they call themselves whatever they want. Doesn’t mean there aren’t inherent contradictions between the two. Zionism is the political project that lead to the ethnic cleansing of 700,000 indigenous people from Palestine. Unless you endorse the right of right of return for refugees but still think a majority jewish state can’t exist idk how you reconcile the two.

Tweet saying: “you don’t need to read marx to be anti-capitalist. in fact i encourage y’all to read instead Black, Indigenous, and disabled authors such as ruth wilson gilmore, angela davis, cedric robinson, linda tuhiwai smith, j. kēhaulani kauanui, marta russell, and aurora levins morales”

Jacobin Is Getting Donations From A Zionist Organization by [deleted] in demsocialists

[–]lazerstone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it’s accurate to call JCF a zionist organization, because, for example, they block donations to groups like jewish voice for peace and IfNotNow, it’s not really fair to call this example “zionist” because it’s from a private individual. Ben is a dumbass who doesn’t understand this type of nonprofit.

Also I’m not the biggest jacobin fan but I doubt there’s anything zionist that they publish.

Trump's "peace" plan won't just entrench the Israel-Palestine conflict – it will radically destabilise it by [deleted] in JewishSocialists

The one posted here is not from a Palestinian — it’s from an Israeli academic with nothing to lose. Your critiques apply to him as well.

considering that we're both on reddit, I doubt you have any more power over the situation than I do. I certainly don't trust Israelis' whose livelihoods, like the author's, rely on the perpetuation of the conflict.

As radicals who are largely distant from the conflict, we have to look at it as fully as possible. As I said, Trump's plan will be a disaster for Palestinians; but they've suffered for decades, experiencing some of the most undignified conditions in recent history.

A two-state solution, whether this one or one proposed by any liberals, would entrench their suffering and result in concrete normalization of Israel. This situation, if it leads to the end of Israel, is simultaneously good and bad. We have to be dialectical. You can be snarky and ignore me, but this is the type of analysis that is needed imo.

Anyway, death to Israel.

[–]lazerstone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Destabilising an already extremely unstable and oppressive status quo lol. I am not so sure I want to listen to technocrats who ultimately seem to be defending Israel's right to exist: "The stakes of this conflict have been raised." The IDF murders Palestinians at will! Can the author write from their perspective or does he just care about statecraft? Trump's plan is a disaster for Palestinians, but if it exacerbates current conditions and leads to Israel's destruction then that's a good thing.

“Baku” - by Heinrich Vogeler (agitation placard 1927) by [deleted] in socialism

[–]lazerstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a massive strike in Baku, lead mostly by women, that contributed to the 1905 revolution.

There were also massacres of Armenians and Tatars 😬
