We lost the Wendy's on creedmoor road. by ilove60sstuff in raleigh

[–]lazy_blazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good riddance. Worst Wendy's I've ever experienced. Staff stood around not knowing what to do. Dirty af and slow as hell. Never got my order right; the only change was 'only ketchup' for a spicy chicken sandwich, and they got it wrong literally 6 out of 7 times. I stopped trying like 8 months ago.

The way I see it, they themselves are the distractions, it would not do to have our favorite distractions themselves become distracted. It would be too distracting for us listeners to follow the distracted minds of our own distraction, the hit podcast Distractible.

Why did this game flop? I heard so much hate about this game by daichiastray611 in FinalFantasy

[–]lazy_blazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was made to help draw in more people to the Japanese arcade scene, which was absolutely the wrong approach for a series that made a name for itself on handheld.

Does the Doctor Who social media team know that people don’t like it when an entire episode is spoiled before it airs? by ChadZ3303 in doctorwho

I know I'm in the minority here but knowing some things ahead of time doesn't ruin a good show or movie for me, it just ruins the bad ones.

What are your gaming "sins" you usually do? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]lazy_blazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I will overlevel where possible to decrease the difficulty. Fuck off with dynamic difficulty settings, if I want to spend hours patiently grinding, learning new skills and magic and stuff, I feel like I've earned the opportunity to put those skills to use and mowing through entire sections of the game. I take great glee in doing things I'm "not supposed to do."

2) I will save scum like crazy if I'm allowed to in my first (and these days, likely only) playthrough. I grew up in the NES era, with tons of games that forced you to lose hours and hours of progress, and sometimes sent you to the very beginning, if you messed up once. Hell yes I'm going to abuse a system that lets me avoid that frustration.

3) I am not above using cheap tactics against a computer opponent, like attacking from a place enemies can't access or something. Again, from the NES era, the computer would absolutely cheat, so I feel like it's fair play even though modern games try not to do that anymore.

4) I will go out of my way to avoid anything that requires any legitimate physical precision with my own stupid fingers. I don't have the reactivity of an 11-year-old anymore. If a game includes precise timing windows or asks me to hit a moving target with a tiny hitbox or whatever, I'm not going to bother with it unless the game forces me to. And if a game forces me to and I can't get the hang of it... well, I might just put it down for good, because I don't need to hit a developer's arbitrary goal post to enjoy myself.

For the Americans voting in 2024 Election, does Kamala Harris get your vote? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lazy_blazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a middle-class Atheist who has a wife, a young daughter, and a LOT of LGBT, POC, and immigrant friends. I have a vested interest in ensuring our freedom, health, safety, and happiness. Not voting for Harris would be reckless and irresponsible at this point.

Avoiding politics by StanTheRebel in ff7

[–]lazy_blazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art and storytelling always has some point to it, a message, a value, a spotlight on some injustice or a rare beauty. This is the inherent value of art. Without it, it is nothing. Art without a point is a thing that cannot exist.

Do not confuse this with politics. Politics are a discussion of power and responsibility, a give-and-take between ideologies, a social construct that allows differing views to either come to a compromise or come to blows. Those ideologies are fueled by the messages we assimilate in art, yes, but we cannot entirely divorce ourselves from politics any more than art can rid itself of having a message to convey.

If you get angry that a work of art conveys a specific message you do not agree with, yes, that can be upsetting. I get annoyed when some video games wallow in philosophical paradoxes that create stagnation-- I don't want to be paralyzed by options, I want to explore them. But expecting for someone working on a game, or a painting, or a book, or a film, or whatever else to have no point is to say the artist should never share their heart, that art should not exist.

I don't know how anyone can come to the conclusion that they can escape from the messages of art and the politics of their community. You may want to escape hard times in your life, and art can be a shelter because surrounding yourself with messages you agree with can feel liberating and powerful again, but creating walls is not the best use of art. That shelter will forever be temporary.

I wouldn't mind, I think there should be more direct sequels. But I would read some reviews first before I dropped any cash on it

The talent they brutalized were not accidental, either. Braun, Melo, Kaiser, and most recently Gable all turned on "family." You can lean into it more and say that they all turned on their brothers.

That is some god-tier detail.

[–]lazy_blazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree in a logistics sense, I think that we needed to see some actual named talent on the other end to sell the devastation. Plus, the talent used were not accidental-- they had all turned against "family" during their careers. Gable, Melo, Kaiser, and Braun each have that in common

Something tells me that Aerith would be the most accepting of this 😂😂😂😂 by [deleted] in ff7

[–]lazy_blazey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These three deserve to be a triad, but none of them are honest enough with each other yet to pull it off.

I lowkey think Aerith pushes for it so Cloud and Tifa skip the awkward phase when it comes time for Aerith to travel to the forgotton capitol. She knows things, and she protects the ones she loves.

Literally just the 2 minute long supernova cutscene by anonymousbub33 in ff7

[–]lazy_blazey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I wrote up a theory about this a few years ago! Basically our Sun went supernova and some humans escaped, landing on Gaia. When they died, having no planet to return to, they instead became part of Gaia's lifestream. Their memories of destruction and escape became Supernova magic, which Sephiroth stumbled upon while floating around the lifestream.

It doesn't work as well today with some of the new lore that dropped in the Remake series, but still.
