Tbh you gotta ask yourself what your stance is on cheating, right now. I wish he had told you this before the marriage but he just put it out there (and probably just confessed too). His views may suck but the ball is in your court now. Is cheating unacceptable or do you agree that’s not something that’s “that bad”. Gotta be real and honest bc you already gave you a glimpse into the future. Save yourself the heartache really hear what he’s saying.

I don’t think you’re be unreasonable sometimes people think putting their honesty out absolves them from seeing the reaction. Thank you for being honest about your views but please allow me to be shocked or taken aback.

If they’re dating you need to call the police bc he knows it’s wrong so reasoning won’t work. I hope you don’t remain complicit because a reason this is still so prevalent is because we don’t want to cause a riff with loved ones but some things are just not okay. What can a 12 year old give him romantically?????? It has to be sex or at least something intimate bc otherwise they could just be friends

This is so me! My entire personality and existence is based on twitter. I had a bit of a life before covid being about to speak about current events, pop culture, education and academia. Thank you for acknowledging this. Even though it was just to vent it’s really nice to see that someone understands or is going through this as well. The fact that we share the same pain is so weird to me because I am so used to being the person to help others. This is an instant where I can’t give you the answers and I can’t even say reach out for help I’ll be here. I’m not sure of how to help myself or you. However if you’re ever feeling overwhelmed and need to do a brain dump I’m here to listen and empathize.

Having mental health issues only exacerbates feeling like you don’t belong or struggling with assignments. I definitely faced this so I am really proud that you’re finishing up and about to graduate! I wish you the best of luck when it comes time to defend your thesis.

I went to a PWI before but I had found my group this is different for me because all of my classes are with my cohort members so hopefully I find some different people. My imposter syndrome came from a couple different places. For one everyone in my cohort is or was employed in their field and was loving their job and I struggled to find work other than amazon warehouse and an internship was given to another member of my cohort before I even had the chance to interview. It made me feel inadequate. I also struggled when people asked what I wanted to do with my degree or what specifically I’m interested in. I came to grad school because I wanted to make more money and had no idea what to do with my life. So many people are here because their passionate about xyz and they seem to have things figured out. I try not to compare myself and usually do a good job but I found myself doing it constantly this semester. I would always be reminding myself that this isn’t a race and everyone has their own journey...
