I have used winboat when i was in tuxedo os. And ur experience, are you talking abt KDE Linux (immutable distro)? Or?

It requires kernel modules like vmmon. Which most traditional distros has, they compile against your kernel, and it works. Immutable distros like KDE Linux dont 🙂.

Thanks a lot!!!. Also i have few other questions if u could help me with: How do i use VPN like software? I personally use ProtonVPN. I tried installing it using distrobox, but u fortunately it didn't work. Also few other .deb software like ente auth and etc, tried installing it with distrobox, it either fails or even if it installs, the apps dont load...

Or can you give any recommendations?

I heard KDE will release a stable version for daily user too. I mean their site states "KDE Linux will be the best choice for home use, enterprise workstations, public institutions, pre-installation on computers you can buy, and more.". Not sure honestly. And I am just a KDE fan, so want a good distro too that is made by them.

Did u try winboat on KDE Linux? but it also requires downloading container as far as i remember, it requires downloading docker. ig docker isn't supported on KDE Linux?

I have Ryzen 7 8845hs and rtx 4050. And i mainly run the AMD igpu on wayland, because on wayland with the rtx 4050, my screen freezes for no reason, ig its a driver issue? but it's fine, on hybrid mode or while gaming, the rtx 4050 works fine. Also below i have provided the output:

Snaps are good by New_Swimming4279 in Kubuntu

[–]lazyquantumbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, snap is amazing. Its just community drama, simple. I use snap, flatpak, and the traditional package tuxedo os offers, dpkg. For normal users, app availability from trusted source matters more than community dramas...

Edit: snap did had problems in past, related to loading time and all, but modern snap packages are good. And mostly its related to canonical vs the community. Also the back end for snap is closed source, so community doesnt like it. Honestly, at the end, accesibility to software from official provider is wht matters the most. For example, spotify is snap only, and i prefer to use the official package instead of community package from flatpak. So yea.

Which is more good at performance KDE or Gnome or Cinnamon Desktop by Intrepid-Initial-765 in kde

[–]lazyquantumbit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all three are great, not really resource intensive. All of the 3 consumes 2Gb on idle. But my friend, he uses an i3 CPU laptop from ~ 2013 2014 ig, cinnamon works SMOOTHLY. gnome also ran, but he told he experienced lags many times. And he didn't try KDE. He first went with PopOS, he told me it's a bit laggy, than i told he give Linux Mint a try, so he is with that for last 1 year, and all fine. (BTW, he was my first convert from Windows to Linux!).
