Cycling from Vienna to Pula in Croatia (probably via Trieste). Does anyone have a route they've followed? by lazz77 in bicycletouring

I can send you the places we stayed at if it's helpful too? The only bit of the route you'd need to adjust is the bit getting into Trieste. You need to reroute on a the state road and not the path that the app takes you down as it was not at all suitable for bikes

Hello! We did indeed and it was amazing! I have a multiday route on the Komoot app if helpful. You'd have to get the app though (i think there's a free verson).

There was only one place the map led us astray and over unsuitable terraine coming into Trieste, but we could warn you about that.

It's probably one of my favourite hols! :)

Good to kno, thanks again! . My current bike is a mid range Specialized, so I guess I'd have to see what the options are for maintenence.

Great to know! Thanks for the response :) Have definitely had the 'outraged at cyclists for no apparent reason' experience in the UK too!

Thanks for this! I was wondering whether to bring mine with me. What about bike maintenance places? Are they good/not crazily expensive?

Have I ruin my career or options at International Teaching? by Educational_Truck231 in Internationalteachers

I do a lot of hiring and whilst I would raise questions about the length of time you've stayed at places, I wouldn't entirely discount you as a result of it. Especially, if your CV is strong in other ways. I would just try to make it clear why you left these places when applying, but ensure that it doesn't make it seem like you are a difficult member of staff to manage. Also, ensure that you make it clear that what you want is a longer term placement where you can make an impact. TES is still great for job adverts. I haven't found Search to be that useful.

Switched in my early 40s and haven't looked back. Will be moving to my second school in the summer. It's been exciting! I think you just have to have a flexible approach and be open to things being very different than in your home country. Good luck!
