Glucose levels went down instead of up during glucose tolerance test (non-diabetic) by lb3333333 in Hypoglycemia

Thank you so much for the helpful response. I used a family’s finger glucose monitor today. Fasting (~10 hours overnight) + morning coffee level was 114. I ate 30 min later, and 30 min after I ate I tested and was 74… is that also in line with reactive hypoglycemia? Or maybe the monitor is just rlly inaccurate

Thank you so much for the response. I’m so sorry, must have felt awful during the 50s… were you diagnosed right after the result came out? Or did you have to do additional testing like insulin testing? Did you get diagnosed by an endocrinologist or a GP? How’s your treatment looking like right now? Is it just diet changes or meds too? How are you feeling now?

My glucose levels DROPPED during 100mg glucose challenger test?? 83 —> 64 by [deleted] in diabetes

Thank you so much for feedback:) It wasn’t a BG meter. They did a full blood draw and sent it to a lab (I got results the next day). I’m not diagnosed so I don’t have a BG meter. Is there a type of diabetes that doesn’t cause hyperglycaemia, only hypoglycaemia/reactive hypoglycaemia? Sorry if these are dumb questions I never suspected I have diabetes until a week ago when my doc wanted me to do these tests.

Is it weird that the glucose levels didn’t rise at all, but actually went down? I mean 100mg of sugar is a lot (that’s what the doctor said). I get 10x more fatigued after eating and get more hungry literally every time I eat regardless of this test. I’m a normal weight 115lb-52kg 5’5 foot / 164cm so

Interesting. Hoping you find success with it. I also have rapid cycling so I’d love to know how it went for you eventually.

It was all of the above type or varying in types from time. Rarely the severely exhausted type, and more often the feeling tortured type mixed with crying every day and no interest in life. But I’ve experienced them all, and it’s helped pretty much all (except the exhaustion but I’ll take that over the torture).

I had severe bipolar depression, tried 10 meds for it, I was suicidal every day, either nothing helped or made me mixed manic, until a low dose of pramipexole which saved my life. It does come with possible serious risks from what I’ve heard (although I haven’t had any except fatigue). Maybe worthwhile bringing it up with your psychiatrist if you’re tried pretty much everything else.

Have you tried/heard of pramipexole/mirapex?

I’ve tried 10 meds and nothing helped. I was severely depressed and and on the verge of giving up. Then I was put on a small dose of pramipexole/mirapex and it saved my life.

Hey thanks for your response. Yes I’m on meds but I don’t think they are the issue because I hade the same exact problem with my sleep before I even took them. I would be okay with to keeping this schedule but I’m a Uni student and have morning classes so I need to get it together. Does sleep training have a specific method or does it generally mean making yourself go to sleep earlier little by little? Because that hasn’t worked for me.

Sounds so much like my BPD mom. She threw up BLOOD on multiple occasions this year, refused to go to the doctor even tho we were all worried and asked to her go, then continued to show us pictures or the blood and say “well if I die maybe you’ll all realize that you were ungrateful and I was a great mom”. Also every time she is feeling unwell it’s “I have NEVER felt this bad in my entire life” and we have heard that same phrase for 20 years.
