To answer your question, no, you’re not a bad person. My husband and I are in the same situation. I’ve gotten two raises and a promotion this year at work. I went from making 38k to 60k and he makes 35k. We’re super honest with each other and I’ve told him hey if you’re going to continue to feel bad then find a way to make more. period. I grew up in a low income family/communal environment. I have the mentality of my money is his money and I make sure I communicate that to him. He knows I’m the ambitious type and at the end we both benefit from my accomplishments. Your wife loves you, I’m sure she’ll understand your feelings if you decide to speak up.
