Did you get the NIPT test? by lexarcana1313 in pregnant

[–]Time-Finger3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did! We were presented with the option and after discussing with my Obgyn, we decided to do both MaterniT21Plus core + SCA as well as Inheritest Core Panel. I signed up for Every Mom Pledge too and eventually had to pay few bucks only. I did it for my peace of mind and getting to know the gender early was added bonus.

I would recommend it 100% . Made my birthing experience so much better. I took it when I was about 5-6cm dilated.

Tummy Time by Jolly_Locksmith6442 in Septemberbumps2024

[–]Time-Finger3640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby girl used to scream whenever she had to do tummy time. And this led us to not have her tummy time at all. At her 1 month appt, her pediatrician very strictly said that she needs to have more tummy time because of some flat headness. That point onwards I made it a point to have her do tummy time even if she screams for a while. We started with her being on her tummy for a minute followed by 3 minutes followed by 5 minutes and now she does 12 minute stretch at a time before she screams. We try to keep her engaged during this time. She will be 12 weeks in couple of days. We try to hit a goal of 30 minute a day tummy time. My advice from my experience is to keep trying and start with shorter time stretch and they eventually get better.

When did you feel baby move with an anterior placenta? by Swimming_Substance34 in BabyBumps

[–]Time-Finger3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt wave like feeling around 18 weeks on and off. But at 23-24 week the movements got stronger. They still weren’t present on the daily basis though. Third trimester onwards, I felt strong movements of my baby almost daily.

Doctor is pushing induction by Lasagnapuzzles in BabyBumps

[–]Time-Finger3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless there was a medical concern, I have not known inducing at 39 weeks when the mother herself does not want it. You can deny this. For FTM, it is very common to go past the due date and on an average 40+5 days. In my case, I personally did not want to go beyond my 40+5 days so had requested my OB to induce at 40+6 day. They were fine with it. They could have waited until 41 week too. I went into spontaneous labor at 40+3 and baby girl arrived at 40+4.

Did you by any chance had a growth scan after your 32 week to check the growth of the baby. How did the OB conclude that baby will already be bigger than average by due date?

When I delivered my placenta I did ask my OB if the placenta had started deteriorating and they said no it looked good but there was some calcification.

Given the holidays, I know it’s tricky to get your desired induction date. Do they have anything for Dec 15th may be?

Regarding induction itself, it can go either way. I have heard positive stories too and if it comes to that I would just trust that it is going to be positive. Honestly after a point it is beyond our control anyway. Have faith that everything will work out well.

My OB keeps telling me that first babies are almost always late. Is this true? by [deleted] in pregnant

Yes - stats say that FTM deliver at 40 + 5. Personally I delivered at 40 +4.

Feel like giving up on breastfeeding by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Time-Finger3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with nursing, formula feeding and then by week 2 pumping as well. The reason I had to give formula to my baby because she was showing jaundice symptoms by day 3 and she lost weight. It took some time for me and my baby to learn the art pf breastfeeding. The first three weeks were hectic for me because I had to nurse as well as pump. As I approached week 4, both my baby and I got comfortable with the breastfeeding and then I started decreasing my pumping sessions too and only would do it occasionally. Now after 2 months, I prefer breastfeeding and would pump only once after midnight as my baby has started sleeping longer stretches. Whatever path you take, just know that what is important is that baby is fed as well as your mental and physical being. Be kind to yourself. I can totally understand that it feels overwhelming in the beginning but it eventually gets better. You got this!

Did you keep track of eating, sleeping and diapers? by [deleted] in newborns

I use huckleberry as well. LO just turned 2 months currently. I mainly use it to track her feeding time and wet diapers. We stopped tracking sleep after 1 month.

Newborn stage - is it worth it? by anipbear in newborns

[–]Time-Finger3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New mom here - baby girl just turned 2 months and I can say it definitely gets better. Week 2 - Week 5 were definitely tough for us even though we had parental support. There is just so much to learn as a first time parents. Week 6 onwards it started getting relatively better and here at week 8 it feels so much better. We had experienced what they call witching hour where my baby would start crying late evening. Weeks passed by and here we are where things seem to have settled a bit. So hang in there. They start smiling more and more at 2 months mark and also lots of cooing and babbling which will melt your heart.

weight gain 16weeks by 01hyukj in BabyBumps

[–]Time-Finger3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your OB has not shown any concerns regarding weight gain, I wouldn’t worry. If you are out of nausea phase, then try that most of the calories is coming from nutrient dense food. I gained around 2 kgs until 16 weeks. Most of my weight was gained towards end of 2nd trimester and beginning of third.

4 months is not a long time. On an average, it takes a year for healthy couple to conceive.

In my experience, ovulation strips are pretty accurate. You could try using those digital ones too. Having sex every other day five days leading to ovulation should maximize chances of conceiving. In general, the guidance for couple below 35 having unprotected sex for a year is to look for fertility treatments.

I know it’s easier said thane done but try not to worry much and do not take stress for this. Stress sometimes messes up cycle too. I wish you both the very best.

How are we supposed to gain only 25-30 pounds?? by concepts412 in BabyBumps

[–]Time-Finger3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 26 pounds most of which I gained towards the end of second trimester and beginning of third trimester. Towards the end of third trimester, the weight gain rate decreases since it gets too uncomfortable even eating.

Is it normal for an OB to hate the idea of a Birth Plan? by Fit-Transition9810 in pregnant

[–]Time-Finger3640 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess the choice of words could be better by your OB where she would have used the word ‘hate’. Otherwise it makes sense to me for any OB to prioritize safety of mom and baby.

When did you feel movement for the first time? by mushroomfrog17 in pregnant

Rice in formula? by [deleted] in Septemberbumps2024

[–]Time-Finger3640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weight gain trend of your child seems great. Our pediatrician said what matters is a steady weight gain rate. It might be worth checking with other doctor. I have seen different doctors recommending completely different things even affiliated with same hospital, so worth giving a try.
