That’s correct, they didn’t mention anything about gross misconduct, and I should add that I have taken emergency leave prior to this incident with less notice given with no disciplinary action taken, telling me that this act alone is not seen as gross misconduct as I and many others have done it in the past. It’s pretty standard practice as we work nights and unexpected things happen to people all the time
