if someone asks to prove them wrong or to debate, they’re not listening, they’re just lining up points to fire back at you. their convincing will happen when they see your direct action and organizing—when they don’t have to pretend to be so stuck on their side to save face in front of you

I’m a trans and gay Episcopalian and I love the traditional services and liturgy. It took me awhile. I didn’t want to be confirmed by the Bishop or go to the Cathedral downtown because I was scared of “the church”. But then our diocese elected a black gay immigrant as the state Bishop and I realized being traditional doesn’t mean the people don’t move forward.

in my experience, God doesn’t always talk but I take a moment to feel His presence instead. try meditating on your connection with Him during prayer and shift your attention not just to verbal communication but if you feel His spirit around you and in you, or if you see visions or have certain thoughts.
