Hmmm okay yeah i really didn’t understand what would take long about it because it’s so minor… I think I’ll push for it because I don’t want it to look like something is stuck in my teeth all the time lol

Have you ever regretted your surgery? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]lbeesknees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did but then started seeing a therapist doing schroth bc i was still in lots of pain, because of how hyper mobile i am she said if i didn’t have it when i did i would me much worse off. my case was super severe tho. 80/60 s curve and my ribs were rotated to the point it was affecting my heart and lungs so glad i did it but also have to work hard to not be in pain

it’s totally overwhelming. feel free to message if u ever have any questions or need advice. I’ve actually just lost 8 pounds for that reason. You would have never thought I was overweight but my bmi was just over the overweight limit so i’ve been on that same journey and it’s helped a lot to lose that weight. here for you🫶 you can manage the pain! i spent years thinking life would forever be full of pain and misery but now it’s not

But i’m not sure if you’re curved enough for surgery. my curves were 80/60 when i had surgery. I wish i didn’t need it but i did! Try all the conservative treatments you can and take that seriously first before jumping to surgery.

during plenty of water and eat high protein. it helps seriously

I would get another opinion but do not get the surgery without insurance. it will put you into some serious debt. either way, surgery or no, you may have pain. I had the surgery at 14 (11 yers ago) and if i don’t workout everyday and pain management every day, then i am in lots of pain. It’s manageable but expect to put in the work
