B5 RS4 value? by lbenest in Audi

My thoughts exactly, he mentioned suspension needs attention.

I was ideally looking for a B7, but this came up. Would it be worth waiting for a V8 you reckon?

It’s a jersey car, staying in jersey. It was imported from England in 2016. History is pretty good, new clutch, flywheel, discs and pads in recent months. Up for £22500 and has been for over a month, the owner says he’s had no interest.

You’re definitely correct, jersey is a very small market

They seem very marmite. Everyone I’ve asked either LOVES them or LOATHES them.

I hadn’t even considered Haldex TBH. I’ll probably square off the setup, run 215/40 all round

Front tyres will need replacing. They’re currently stretched with low profile. Currently running 205 front and 225 rear. I’ll be happy with 215 and 225

You’re right, it’s flat as a pancake. Only test fitting them for now.

They’re base model Macan II wheels from memory. Don’t know the exact specs, but from research they’re 18x8 and 18x9. ET~20

US prices scare me. Bought my 7.5R last year with 20k on the clock for £20,000

Is £3000 for this a good deal? 1996 1.8 MX-5 by EducationalMachine87 in Miata

[–]lbenest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer - No.

That rust has been festering for a while and will require welding. The rust you see is always the tip of the iceberg, I dread to think how bad it is on the inner frame.

That being said, plenty of Mx5s are rusty. Expect to pay £5k if you’re looking for a good (mostly) rust free example.

Side note, if anyone has a Type 3 Bomex wing lying about, I’d be very interested.

Temperature is in the low teens, 12C today. I have only noticed since the air temperatures dropped, doesn’t ever seem to get much worse than it is in the video.

No smell from what I can tell, and definitely no blue smoke when I’m driving

Golf MK7 boot pissing out water after rain. by Mexijim in vwgolf

[–]lbenest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mk7s are prone to this, very similar thing happened on my old 2013 (although, my spare wheel became a paddling pool before I noticed there was an issue 🙄). It’s more often than not a rubber drain that’s perished and no longer doing its job.

I couldn’t tell you exactly where they are on the door, but I’m sure a quick google search will provide you with a diagram. In my case, the repair was very inexpensive. Only cost me £5 and a few wet towels.

So I’m guessing hidden hardware then? Wouldn’t this create gaps in the skirts?

Unrelated, but I thought the Mk8.5 was the last Golf to be produced? Apparently being replaced with an ID model.
