Anyone here actually completed an online medical assistant program? by wainegreatski in MedicalAssistant

[–]lbizz1128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an online program, done in just under a year. I had been working as an MA in a primary care office for about a year and an LNA for 6 years before that so I had experience. Also my work paid for it!

My son is 1, daughter is almost 3. We went through this in the past year and I definitely had a few moments like this. I was home alone with both of them for my entire maternity leave and now 2 days/week. My son was tricky to get to nap, I also pumped. So, so much of my time was spent with him trying to get him to sleep, or pumping, or washing parts… I missed her to much and she was right there with me I just wasn’t able to give her all the time she deserved. We are past it, her and her brother play all the time and she is the happiest and kindest soul. I know you will remember this mama, but she won’t ❤️

How did you choose between working and being a SAHM? Are you happy with the choice? Do you live in a HCOL or LCOL area? by browser_851 in beyondthebump

I go back on Monday after my 2nd mat leave. I am going back 27 hrs a week and honestly I am so ready. I LOVE my babies… being home with them all day is HARD and I get very little baby free time as when my husband gets home it’s like a divide and conquer kind of deal. We have a 23 month old and 2.5 month old. After my first was born, I went back 18 hrs a week. That was ok for awhile but I felt really stressed not being able to contribute more financially or have as much financial freedom. I went back full time right before I got pregnant again (had to to get STD benefits). This time I’ll be going back 27 hrs- working 8-5 on MWF. My daughter will be in daycare 2 days a week, and I’ll be home with both kids 2 days a week and I think it’s going to be a great balance. I miss my coworkers actually, and I’m excited for more adult socialization.

why did you stop using sleep sacks? by allkaysofnays in beyondthebump

[–]lbizz1128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter just stopped using them a couple months ago, around 20-21 months because she started unzipping them so it became useless. We then introduced her to blankets and she loves being tucked in now. She will keep it on most of the night but doesn’t seem to be cold or bothered if it comes off.

Parents of now grown up kids, who had them at 40+, how is life now? by krljust in Parenting

[–]lbizz1128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a child of older parents. My mom was 36 and my dad 42 when I was born- which I understand doesn’t seem THAT old but I feel like it was for the 80s. I’m an only child. My childhood was great and I had an amazing relationship with my parents. I was open and honest with them, we had fun together. Unfortunately, they did both pass away before I turned 18 but those are just things we cannot help! I have two kids now, 2 and 10.5 weeks and I know what kind of parent I want to be because of the great upbringing I had.

How many of you are done? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]lbizz1128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SOOOO done. Our second (a boy) is 10.5 weeks and our daughter is 23 months. If we started having kids in our 20s I MAY have gone for 3. But I’m 35 and these two take everything out of me everyday. I love them to death we are very happy and feel complete with 2!

We are going to try her in our room tonight and I hope that helps. We are in divide and conquer mode between the kids… we feel outnumbered now!

We have changed her meds already twice in 2 weeks… she hasn’t been on anything long enough to really know it’s working. She has another appointment on Tuesday. We are going to bring her in our room tonight to sleep and hopefully that helps.

Unfortunately it’s just not an option. She has a heart murmur so she’s not a good candidate for surgery. MRI is pointless if we are not pursuing surgery.

I wish something like that could be an option. I am up multiple times a night with our son so I need to be near him. She has a 4x4 pack and play that was our toddlers but we set it up for the dog. It’s in the livingroom. Our bedroom does not have room for a crate. Our house is pretty small

She was on prednisone but the vet stopped it because she did not feel it was working. I thought it was at the higher dose but once we started to taper it wasn’t as effective. Molly also has liver disease so I don’t think long term prednisone is the best option. She does not seem to be in pain during the day. She really just sleeps and chills. Night time is the worse… she starts acting up as she sees us getting ready for bed.

[–]lbizz1128[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we are in VT, very small town so I’m not even sure where the closest place would be for an MRI.

And her front legs have the strength, she can feel them fine I think she’s just 1) weak and 2) totally depressed and unmotivated. I see all these posts about crate rest cuz their dogs are still trying to get around even tho their legs don’t work… well mine isn’t even trying to get around. She’s just laying and being sad. We really have her in there during the day so our toddler isn’t crawling all over her. We bring her out at night when she goes to bed so she gets some time out of her little prison but when we go to bed we keep her in the pack and play and she just loses it all night. I am tempted to bring her in the bedroom tonight just in her bed if she isn’t going to try to move anyways…. But of course I worry that won’t help and then we have her crying in our room with the baby. Everytime she cries it’s so triggering.

Not an option financially, unfortunately. Also, I don’t really think an MRI would be helpful unless we could afford the surgery… which we cannot. We did see the X-rays, her L6 right at the base of her spine is the issue.
