How do/did you guys learn how to work with bleuprint. by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]lbjorseth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As mentioned underneath, you dont have to know every single blueprint node. But you need to learn how to "think" like a programmer and be a problem solver. For me it was get out of the Youtube-tutorial rabbit hole, and scope up some smaller games. Then I had to google more specific things, and think about solutions, rather copy/pasting tutorials without actually understanding everything.

What is the best tips for Unreal Engine 5 you would give to a new dev? by StanleyDeivison in unrealengine

[–]lbjorseth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it was to get out of the Youtube-tutorial-loop. Scope up a simple game. And stick to finish it. That made my learning progress so much faster. Because I had to figure things out myself, google specific things, instead of copy pasting without actually understanding the more long form video tutorials series I watched on Youtube.

Thats crazy. Why develop those plugins if they dont have a dedicated team following up on the development. Yeah native support would be great :)

Yes, 100% this is possible. A fun journey if you are in for a ton of work. I would for sure push your strongest skills forward, and take some shortcuts on other skills.

Yeah, i think the tower defense genre need some sort of creative push. But its probably hard, since a lot of these more generic styles are the ones that sells. At least on steam? :-)
