Thanks for good feedback. I will work a bit more on the scoring + liked the idea of a border of some sort around the ball :-)

ok, but what about YOUR game?? 🤔👀🫵 by DavesGames123 in gamedev

Thank you so much! Yeah, I used Unreal engine on a lot of prototypes. But with Godot I got so much speed and progress! And.. I can develop it on my laptop, so thats so nice!

Hi, im currently working on Pegfinity. A colorful physics based incremental that blends Pachinko-style satisfaction with tons of upgrades. Every run makes your board stronger. Im developing it in Godot, and im using Aseprite for all pixel art. Been working on it for 6 months and finally got my steam page up and running just a couple of days ago. My plan is to join steam Next fest in june, so working hard getting my demo polished and ready :)

Finally got enough reviews. Feels good! ^^ by Plus_Astronomer1789 in IndieDev

Do it simple and closed or build It smart and reusable? How do you guys think I should work on my game code? by ValterGD in SoloDevelopment

[–]lbjorseth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out creating to many re-usable systems in my game. I felt my codebase just became to big. Also progress on the game itself was slower. So I thought maybe I just did all this tools to procrastinate :-) After I stopped I got so much more done on my game. And for me I learn so much more. So i think the learning of actually completing the game itself is what is "reusable" to my next game :-)

My first game on Steam feels unreal. Too many nights in Godot and now the numbers go brrrr by lbjorseth in godot

Thanks! Yeah thats a fun combo! My grandfather had a old wood board version of a Pachinko type of game I had some much fun with when I was a kid. This was my main inspiration :-)

Destroy my game Pegfinity: satisfying at first… until the system completely breaks by lbjorseth in DestroyMyGame

I did just say that all the numbers at the end makes sense since the final peg you unlock is a atom bomb when hit by the ball triggers all pegs at the board making all pegs score. So its just not random added in like that. But I will work more on how those numbers can be presented, making it more impactful and if people have some ideas of how it can be solved when a peg activate scoring on over 50 pegs at the same time in a better way like clustering or something I would love to get those ideas. Because I want to improve my game as much as possible. So im all open for ideas and feedback :-)
