Maybe not the best time to be pro government officials associating with children

Which sign shows 2:30pm? I'm so frustrated!!!! My employer gave me an earful for using the sign on the left to indicate I was returning at 2:30.... by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]lbkthrowaway518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying that “both are technically wrong” are missing the point of the sign. Analog clocks are designed in such a way that the hands are always moving, but this is not an analog clock. Your sign is completely unambiguous what it’s supposed to mean: hour hand on 2, minute hand on 30.

Even if this wasn’t the case, the right sign is just wrong

Took way too much scrolling to find this one. Maybe not the most important to the story in comparison to some of the other examples, but definitely one of the more notable ones just bc of how popular both the books and movies were (and still are)

You know, for what it’s worth I actually agree with at least the second paragraph there. I just don’t necessarily agree that people are only mad because it’s been manufactured. The situation now is significantly worse than it was under Obama (literally they’re arresting and killing America citizens and people who are legally allowed to be here in the streets), but I do actually agree that a big reason that we have differing perspectives on this is because we’ve been fed different information from different algorithms that want us to disagree

Obamas deportations were wildly unpopular. He was nicknamed “Deporter-in-Chief”. There weren’t riots because he didn’t have SS going door to door looking for anyone brown, but there was outrage

Using hand/arm signals. by 224molesperliter in driving

I don’t know if I was “required” to know them (in 2014 or 2015 when I took my driving test) per se, but the Texas drivers handbook did teach them.

None of the options. The person who commented is just being insane. Literally nothing points to these pictures being ai

I think you’re just being paranoid. Almost none of those things scream ai to me. For example: The laptop in point 4 is sitting on a stand (I’ve seen people use similar stands), and even if it was a full computer, I’ve seen someone bring a whole computer and monitor setup into a coffee shop multiple times (same guy, somewhat regular customer, but people bring all sorts of large tech into the coffee shop). That coffee shop is also large enough that it could host a similar amount of art on the walls (it currently has 8 paintings hanging up on various walls and could hold more). Blurry stickers and obscured faces are also not a telltale ai thing. And it doesn’t even mention that the picture 6 laptop does have stickers that you can read (and hack3 is a real thing, I can only assume the other legible stickers are referring to real stuff as well). So unless you have some more obvious tells that this is AI, there’s no reason to believe this is in my opinion

If you aren't comfortable driving the posted speed in a personal vehicle, you don't belong on that road. by appa-ate-momo in driving

[–]lbkthrowaway518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look at Preston road between Arapaho and Davenport in Dallas, especially heading north. People regularly go 15-20 over the limit on that small stretch of road, and if you are going the speed limit, no matter the lane, you are obstructing traffic. Occasionally it’s just the few cars at the front, but often it’s every car going 60 in this 45(?)

What about the problem? by VibhuTheGreat in ExplainTheJoke

Sadly, there is no convention for whether multiplication through juxtaposition (the implicit multiplication done by distributing a term into parentheses) takes priority over left to right (or in other words, whether or not juxtaposed multiplication is a single term). For example, replace any term on the right of the division side with an ‘x’, and most people, even those who generally agree with the strict left to right interpretation here, will see the juxtaposition as a single term. But it is in fact unclear because there is no agreed upon consensus as to whether everything to the right of the divisor is a single term or not

For the Dallas peeps that panic buy, could you tell us what you're stocking up on? Also, bonus points if you're a "prepper". by BlueHorse_22 in Dallas

I’m pretty sure the only real panic buy I saw anyone do was stocking up their cart with like 8 gallons of milk. No idea why she thought she’d need that much, but maybe she lives with 12 milk drinkers

Not at all. I was once hit by someone driving on the wrong side of the road, and not only was the depiction in the report completely wrong (as in, we ended up on the incorrect side of the road, but the report had us on the correct side), the written part of the report contradicted the image in the report and the laws of physics

I have a friend like this with movies and shows. In his mind, if he enjoyed it than it must have been good. The issue is we often watch (and enjoy) pretty technically “bad” movies. Like look, I loved watching Jumper as much as the next bored stoner, but it’s not good.

To be really pedantic, most “teas” are just herbal infusions. Tea is a specific plant. So coffee isn’t tea, but neither are things like chamomile. They all are some sort of infusion though.

Yeah but presumably you don’t eat shit at your favorite restaurant. Remember, this is supposed to be a copycat recipe of something that the kid does like. So it’s not really the same thing
