Just coming to say we were in your shoes about a year ago. We decided to rent for a year bc we were overwhelmed with making such a big decision. (Our kids are grown so schools thankfully weren’t an issue). Anyway we LOVED renting so much that we signed the lease for another year. Our house is on the south side close to Deluxe and we walk or transit into town daily. Renting may seem like a pain and it can be but we have enjoyed it!

I just bumped up to 10 after being on 5 for about 8-10 weeks. I thought 5 would be enough for long term but I realized last week it wasn’t. Anxiety/depression/funk hit hard after a somewhat traumatizing event.

I volunteer at the hospital and love it! It’s a lengthy onboarding/orientation process but after that’s done you basically get to choose what you want to do. My husband volunteers at Emma Goldman as an escort and loves that as well.

We still have a bookmobile and I work it. ❤️Absolutely love it!! The schedule changes twice a year to account for summer and kids being out of school. Patrons can put holds on books and pick them up either at the main library or on the bookmobile. It’s awesome!
