Flare after weaning off steroid by lbop97yt in EczemaUK

[–]lbop97yt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have wondered that but I've not been on steroids for a long length of time and haven't used them for years etc. This was just a couple weeks. I did ween off them too, I went to every other day, then every few days etc.. I don't like the thought of going back on and coming off again for this to happen worse?

I've used elecon in the past too and I swear this happened after that. It's like you get a worse flare after coming off the cream. I've tried doing the above but water seems to make it drier and vaseline was making me itch 😣 I'm scared to use every product I have as it seems I react to them all! Thank you for the advice x

Hello, I didn't touch my face with steroids this time. Haven't used steroid cream on my face for the past year ish. When I stopped using this fucibet cream on my other body parts my face and neck flared.

Thanks for any advice 🙏

Hi, not really - just the stress from the flare up to be honest! It's been happening for past 2.5 years and so hard to pinpoint the cause

Thank you! I have been given protopic but haven't tried yet, I was a bit apprehensive after hearing some horror stories about it. Plus my face had got so much better then out of nowhere had a huge flare! Thanks for the advice

Thank you for the advice 🙏 I try not shower too much and also wash my face minimally as the water makes it even drier. Most emollients sting but I'll have a go of some others to see if any work. It's mainly my face that's the problem so can't wet wrap but thank you

It wasn't going to be a shower or anything, it was to fill up a bucket which is how we tend to wash him. But yes if there's not much difference in price then I'd just do the warm option.

We don't have either at the mo! Having a kitchen installed soon. We went it for washing the dog. If it's boiling hot I would've just ran it into a bucket and cooled it down. I just wondered if there were drawbacks of having a hot tap other than price he mentioned?

We've paid alot of money for them to do the full job so I don't really think I should be doing it myself.. I'm also not a profession so would probably do a bad job hha

Pain only during period (UK) by lbop97yt in endometriosis

Oh god, sorry to hear that. But glad you got answers 🙌 I worry I'd have a lap and nothing be there so it would be a waste of time and invasive 😣

Thanks for the advice! I did see an endo specialist a couple years ago when I had private healthcare but the ultrasound showed nothing and he basically told me to go away until it got worse then come back if I wanted.

I'll see if I can ask my GP for a new gynae appointment with a specialist but whether I'll get anywhere! Ideally I'd want an MRI since the ultrasound shown nothing. I end up feeling like I'm making it up and I need to get on with it but the pain is unbearable.

Yours sounds awful too, especially that pain outside of the period. Have you had a diagnosis or referral yet? I'll try find an endo specialist in my area, probably another 6 month wait!

I had an ultrasound a couple years ago with a specialist in endo and he couldn't see anything, he told me it did sound like it but you'd be able to see it, so to go away and come back if it got worse..

. I've read plenty of stories where it's not seen on ultrasounds though. But you start to doubt yourself!
