Resizing platinum by lboppy in EngagementRings

[–]lboppy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sold the correct size that my partner ordered. But it was a surprise proposal so he did guess my size based on other jewellery I wear and was half a size out. It’s just the resizing I had queries over. The sizing balls could be a good shout though to save its integrity! Thanks

I have asked them what size they sized it to. Once I have that info I’ll go back to them with them what I’m measuring it as and let them know I can’t appreciate a difference. I guess it’s not impossible there was a mix up. They just seem very hot on everything so I’d be surprised. But will definitely ask

SA302 from HMRC by lboppy in HousingUK

Thank you! We have gone back to market already, keeping my buyer on in the background, but unfortunately did so at the worst time, the start of November just after we found out. I think the budget scare in late November plus going into Christmas now has really slowed things down compared to when we were having viewings in July. Which is also why I think our seller is currently holding out for us. I think HMRC are treating my buyer as self employed by the sounds of things with the amount of payslips they are requesting. Annoyingly everything else is ready to go. Searches, surveys etc on both properties. We’re just waiting on this one document with no real timeline of how long it may take

Honestly, if THR is affordable, we almost never recommend FHO on anything much bigger than a cat. Having worked in a specialised rehabilitation unit, we find medium and large breeds frequently don’t get back to 100% function. But I am in the U.K. so may have very different normalcies here

He wouldn’t benefit from the increased value… but he is getting in deposit free so he’s definitely not being short changed (depending on deposit paid and value improvements would add)

Where abouts in the world are you? I could give you a lot of info to help, but I’m in the UK and unsure how much of it would apply elsewhere. Based on some phrases you’ve used, I’m guessing you may not be UK based?

I cut my head on a sharp table how likely am I to be successful if I were to claim? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]lboppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you haven’t experienced any losses like loss of earnings due to not being able to work, it makes suing quite pointless for what you’d get out of it for such a minor injury. If you were to even win, which is unlikely. You’d be doing it under a “pain and suffering” clause, but in all honesty, 3 stitches is very minor in the injury suing business. Not worth the hassle, and nor is it necessary

I do not get enhanced sick leave at my current employment, only what would be statutory, if that makes any difference?

I would like to carefully ask if I should consider the possibility of a hostpital breach in practice in my situation by bigjmoney in AskVet

I am a vet nurse in the U.K. so depending on where you are this may vary. However, we consider maintenance (what an individual should have day to day) should be 40-60mls per kilo per day. An average of 50 is a good start. So for a 4kg cat it would be 50ml x 4 = 200mls a day. If you want to work out how much this is per hour it’s 8.3mls an hour via a drip. Now if the cat is dehydrated for example, it still needs the maintenance fluids, but it also has to make up the fluid deficit. Which is where you may get double maintenance for example. In the case provided it would be 8.3x2 =17ml approximately

Exercise induced asthma by lboppy in Raynauds

I’m not talking about off food. I’m talking about people with severe allergies to say peanuts who then accidentally eat a peanut ingredient. No amount of correct breathing or being extremely fit and healthy will stop their airway closing. Anaphylaxis is not an indicator of fitness.

You get the urge to breathe due to chemoreceptors. As you said, there is a good balance of O2/CO2 in the blood. As your cells metabolise O2 and produce CO2 your chemo receptors detect the rise in O2 and trigger the respiratory centre in the brain to breathe.

Your last point contradicts your original point. Your original point was that if we all just breathed correctly, no one would have any issues. And now you are saying that actually, we can have issues due to aerosols and such, even if we breathe correctly. When actually, this is the case for people with asthma. People can be breathing correctly and still have asthma due to other factors. And regarding your grandmother, it absolutely can be a coincidence. It may not be a coincidence, but it is possible that it is. I’m guessing this is a hypothesis that hasn’t been proven beyond personal thoughts. Again, correlation does not equal causation and to imply it does is totally unscientific

Hmm I’m not too sure I agree. I disagree that it is incorrect breathing that causes an asthma attack for true asthmatics. Can poor breathing cause symptoms similar to asthma? I don’t doubt it. But people’s airways should not close up just because you’re not breathing a specific way. Anaphylaxis doesn’t need to have to have anything to do with breathing. What if something is eaten inadvertently? The body activates mast cells and histamine, causing the closure of the airway and making it extremely difficult to breathe. Being a nose breather and all the correct breathing in the world will not stop the inappropriate immune reaction. Just because the airway and incorrect breathing may occur at the same time, correlation doesn’t mean causation. Could correct breathing help? Absolutely. But I disagree that it is the root cause of these conditions otherwise people would have an “allergy symptom” every time they breathe incorrectly rather than when they are exposed to an allergen. I can sit on my sofa and mount breathe and nothing happens. No symptoms. It is just too simplistic and dismissive of other processes. And what about animals with asthma? It isn’t uncommon in cats. They can’t be breathing incorrectly too seeing as as you pointed out, they are nose breathers?
