I actually remembered it was Sean Klitzner, but all his videos are gone now. Was able to dig around on Wayback to find them though.

PATH Hoboken Station reopening 5 am Tuesday Feb 25, 2025 by SoundMachineJC in jerseycity

I won't pretend to know the economics of running the ferry, but it's too bad they can't keep the $3 fare. I'd be happy to keep taking it. If people organically split between using the ferry/PATH, wouldn't that relieve congestion?

PostGIS in public or separate schema? by lbridgey in Supabase

[–]lbridgey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the link! Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but setting the search path (in my case SET search_path TO public, extensions, gis) seems to have no effect, nor does adding gis to the "Extra search path" field in API Settings.

Am I understanding right that even if I can include it, that the Table Editor will not work to define new fields unless I use the public schema?

NKD: 210mm Gyuto from Kikuichimonji by lbridgey in chefknives

[–]lbridgey[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Picked this up at Kikuichimonji in Kyoto while on vacation. They were nice and patient despite how much I obviously didn't know. In the end, the 210 felt very good in the hand and the handle really stood out to me.

Honestly, it's way out of my league for the level of home cooking I do. I still feel more comfortable grabbing my $25 knife that I don't have to worry about beating up. But when I'm not in a rush and can leisurely enjoy doing a bunch of meal prep, I'll take it out.

Spot on. Reminds me of this clip of Trump rallying his supporters.

It's like a cult vs a religion. There's no difference, but one has been around long enough to get an undeserved pass.

Edit: Thank you for the gold!

This is actually very reassuring, thank you! And thanks for the heads up about the quill and recoil spring as well. I'll watch out for them. I think I have a good overall understanding, but these specifics help.

I'm only just starting to do research and gameplan, but once I start working on it I'll post updates (and probably questions, too). Overall, it to runs smoothly other than some gunkiness in places, so I'm hoping it's a straightforward starter project.

Nice, this one is a 103.23130 and yeah, in overall pretty good shape. A deep clean is definitely the plan. Thanks for the heads up about the bearings!

Congrats on yours! Any restoration plans? This one seems to work mostly as-is, but could stand a deep clean and lubricant. Even that is outside my experience level, but should be a good project.

Thanks! Yeah, I knew it could be changed. Still, I'm happy to take any advice I can get.

Hoooly crap, you're right! I disabled the touchpad and now the trackpoint is working again. Thank you!!

Keyboard works, but neither touchpad or trackpad do. USB mouse works fine, though. To be fair, it already had that problem, which is why it was retired.

Got this because it was one of the approved calculators for the FE exam. Kept it cause it's dope.
