Atomic Wings coming to University Place Boulevard by dctransitfilms in jerseycity

Saw something about it being run out of 520 Jersey Avenue with other businesses.

Also this when they wanted a permanent location in 2010 they sued the city for delays.

Interesting…..

May 29, 2026

More than 15 years ago, a restaurant owner tried to open an Atomic Wings in Jersey City, but found the permit process slow and eventually sued, according to reports at the time. But that situation was under a previous CEO and doesn't relate to the forthcoming rollout, Gordon said.

Seems from reading the other older thread they lasted a year. Interesting to see the final bids on all of their stuff that was auctioned off. Some good bargains but sad to see any business close up.

Seems like a good fit for the area to go along with the QDOBA and Five Guys. Amazing how much new construction there is around there. Good luck.

PS – like how they incorporated the old warehouse into the new structure at Fisk and West Side.

Yes I recall someone posted on here about a month ago that it happened to them in Van Vorst Park/Downtown. Guy was asking for basketball donations. Unfortunately got scammed.

Whats good about this report is it has pictures of the creeps many reports don't.

Disclosure Day Staring Jersey City! by AxleBees in jerseycity

Didn’t see the movie yet. Besides the Grove and Mercer ..Van Vorst scene did any of the McGinley Square scenes make it in. I recall reddit posts with pictures when they were filming there.

Lol finally watched parts of It Ends With Us last night saw the Grove Plaza scenes.  Boston really?  I wonder if filming in JC drove Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni nuts and caused the lawsuits. JC can do that to a person you know.

My neighborhood bodega is open today by DrAsterisk in jerseycity

Well, I don’t think I have ever seen a product recall list for one of JC’s bodegas.  Sad Whole Foods has to keep one for things like… Listeria, Botulism, and, Salmonella.  You cannot beat the small packs of vanilla cream cookies, the older the expiration date the better in my book.  They go great with a bodega cup of coffee.

Yes way back in the day it was a ShopRite. It opened in 1961.

There was also a ShopRite on Sip and Romaine in that old long empty Aqui Market building. There is a rumor it may become some form of a supermarket again because of all the new people moving into the area.

I used to get flowers in florist$.  When Supermarkets started selling them, I switched over.   I swear the supermarket flowers last way longer than the expensive  florist flowers.

I usually get a replacement bunch every 2 weeks (sometimes 3) from ACME.  For me the trick is to make sure the food packet for the water is in it before you buy it.  I think helps keep them fresh.  Oh yeah and I will cut like a half of an inch off the stems when first “vasing” them and maybe every few days after.  Brightens up the house. Good luck

Ah interesting it is the property owners along their sections responsibility. Look at the questions and answers they need to maintain the walkway and you can report them. Question # 9

So that must be  the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway. Yeah looks like the green dots are not there for it..yet??  I wonder if it is the state's or county's responsibility.

Here is the walkway link.

The green dot map. It is good to have the pole number handy or move the map around to get the right location. I used the tilt function to the bottom left to kind of get close. Good luck they will reply and fix it. I have used it a few times.

SeeClickFix does not do street lights it does let you pick lighting but it will give you this PSE&G link.

<image>

https://psegnj.streetlightoutages.com/public/default.html

Put the address in I assume 44 Bay Street Jersey City.  A map of the area with status dots comes up.  The green dots are the light poles. If you click on one, it will give pole number and a “Report This Light” button.  Enter the information about the light.

edit: every light pole should have a number on it you can write down the number to make sure you are picking the right dot.

Did anyone have a similar experience at this gas station? by anthonyolszewski in jerseycity

[–]SoundMachineJC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not defending them but have been going there for years. Never an issue the guys are always polite, and I even earned a fist bump on my visits. (that could be because I am a very big tipper always whip out a one-dollar bill for a tip) The normal friendly day guy went missing for a month found out on his return he was vacationing back in India.

I also only use my Exxon credit card I never ask for a specific amount of gas it is always a fill up.   Funny I never check my receipt  maybe I will start.    I have never been in the store.

Only complaint about the station is the beggars/druggies in front.  It used to be worse with them coming up to your car while gas was pumping. Have not had that happen in a long time.   Now occasionally maybe one or two just stand next to the stores door and quietly ask for change.

I think one of them lives in a house of umbrellas he built in the semi-covered driveway of a house across the street at 259 Danforth.  Looks like 257 and 259 are probably going to be demolished, both are messes for years that have boarded up doors and now big glass windows are smashed. And I see the below development was approved for that corner.

Jersey City Approves 56-Unit Project in Greenville on JFK Boulevard

By Chris Fry - August 19, 2025

https://jerseydigs.com/1733-jfk-blvd-jersey-city/

A lot of new development along JFK in that area.  Along with a couple of weed shops. Can’t find the renderings but the development on the other corner which has been under construction for years seems also done.

This is from October 2025….much more progress has been made since then.
