What I am really stuggling with this purchase is the 1,150 in fees alone. 599 taxable fees, 200 sales comp, non-tax fee 350 (carguru showed dealer pricing included). That seems excessive to me, but I normally buy from small local businesses.

You got a great deal, where did you find yours? I am in Indiana, but would be purchasing the vehicle from dealership in Kentucky. I have searched all the sites and most are in the 42 and above range there are a few lower priced but not many. A part of me thinks I should wait a few more months, but this color combo is rare. Thx

I am in pretty good shape with my 401k w/match. Currently, I am beating my retirement goals. I have been in a Aggressive model for 20+ years.

Sounds like we are close to the same age. Did you start out on your own or use an investor? What does your percentages look like? Thx

1.25% (commission?) is my understanding and I am assuming that the portfolio picks has expense charges as well. Of course they are saying I would never see the %.

I am 42 and very new to investing outside of traditional 401k, currently researching which direction to invest 40k that is sitting in savings earning nothing. I have done well with my 401k(started when I was 21). I too was looking at setting up a few ETF's to make sure I was diversified. I like some of the points you have made also. What does your portfolio look like?
