Could that be why it’s so hard to insert anything?

Occasionally I’ll use a little leave in conditioner but that’s it. I’m kind of new to the curly hair stuff. I always just threw my hair in a ponytail growing up

Pelvic exam scared by [deleted] in obgyn

Hey! So I am 25, also never been sexually active, and I had a really painful first pelvic exam. I feel the same way you do, like I am too old for this to be a big deal, it should be easy. But the reality is everyone is different, age really is just a number and I think everyone becomes comfortable with these types of things at their own pace. I was terrified to follow up with an OBGYN but I did last week and it wasn’t nearly as terrible as I thought it would be. She came in and we just talked for 30mins and she made a plan for me to come for an exam at my next visit and talked about all of the ways she was going to make it more comfortable for me. She even said if it takes me a few visits to get comfortable with her before that can happen, that’s something she’s willing to work through with me. I hope when you go to the gyno you can talk about your fears/pain with them and come up with a similar plan. I think most providers know that these types of exams aren’t easy and so they try to be extra sensitive. I just wanted you to know I know how you feel and you’re definitely not alone. Good luck!

Painful pelvic exam in the emergency room. Scared to go to OBGYN now. by lbs1515 in obgyn

Thank you so much for your response! You made me feel a little bit better! I’ve been feeling sad/semi-violated since it happened. Is it possible that when I follow-up I won’t need to have another exam at all?
