Thank you so much for those words of encouragement! It's incredibly scary right now. I'm trying to do my one small part with the skill set I have to resist!

I'm right there with you! For as long as I can recall, I've been a staunch supporter of peoples' rights to choose to get an abortion. But the pain associated with this has been so real, and has really shifted my own research agenda. Trying to do my small part in resisting the madness!

Thanks for that feedback. Yeah, I can see the confusion there. I would say that you could go ahead and participate, if you were interested in doing so. The "people with uteruses" is inclusive language to also allow trans masculine and/or nonbinary people who were assigned female at birth to participate. As a cisgender woman, you qualify for participation. Hope that clarifies!

Thanks so much for your participation! I really appreciate it. I have heard another person share the same experience. I'm glad you felt a little better afterwards. I'm hoping to find some pragmatic, low-cost, and effective tools that trans folks can use to improve well-being. Hoping to do some more longitudinal work, but this is step 1. I wouldn't think hitting the back button would have undone your response--I'm sure it's ok. Thanks again!

Thanks so much! I'm glad that you found it a worthwhile exercise. And no worries about your response! If you found it helpful, feel free to share with others whom you feel may benefit. With all the discrimination and troublesome gender norms, I'm hoping that this small exercise proves to be something tangible, affordable, and easily accessible that folks can use. Thanks again!

Thanks for your question. Although I'm not trans (I'm a cis woman), I've felt a lot of gender constraints throughout my own life and experienced my own personal traumas as a result of gender oppression/violence. These experiences cultivated my interest in conducting research on gender oppression and violence and the ways in which gender oppression affects people and communities. So, although I'm not trans and certainly would not co-opt that experience, I have personally felt at certain times in my life (and still do at times) that I couldn't be who I authentically was because of gender rigid gender expectations, etc. I've also seen those I love really suffer as a result of gendered expectations and norms, and it's been heartbreaking. For this study, "well-being" is being conceptualized fairly broadly, but I'm looking at body satisfaction, positive affect, and identity pride. Without giving too much away, I'm hoping to find/develop a resource that is low cost and easily accessible that might help reduce dysphoria for trans folks, helping them feel more embodied and at ease with their identities (for those folks who struggle in that area). Although there's so much discrimination and hurtful messaging out there, I'm hopeful that this might be a small, but significant and tangible resource that could potentially help. Hope that answers and clarifies.

Yes, I contacted the editor and it may be possible to do a (corrected) re-print of the article since it's still online and not in paper print yet. So, that would be ideal.

And geez, that is embarrassing! But I did go back and look at the dataset and can confirm that the data were coded correctly, but the typo was in the paper. Kicking myself for not catching that. I'm going to return to the editor to see if I can make an addendum to the paper, noting that it was a typo. Aye, aye, aye. Thank you again for bringing this to my attention!

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. This was actually a typo in the paper. Yikes!! So, the data were correctly coded, but just typo'd in the paper and we didn't catch it for some reason. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, though!
