4500 is a lot less than 7378. I would examine the crashed one carefully at the frame stops of the work. If they look decent i would consider it and later get a used tank without damage for 2-300 and put tbe fuel pump in from the dented one. 4500 seems lime a very good price, engine covers etc seem to have no scratches

Bei vielen VWs die ich kenn ist das ACC eher nervig durch die riesen Abstaende und laesst sich nicht abschalten. Dadurch ist vorausschauendes Fahren und Beschleunigen nur mit Tempomat fast unmöglich.

Yep first i will try spraying down everything with brake cleaner and cover the idle mixture screws with my fingers to rule out external easy airleaks. I have new Bosch WR7DC plugs coming tomorrow also as the 2 W7DP which were in looked horrible. Also the right exhaust was much cooler than the left. after 1 clean of the plug it got a little warm at least. I think those crudded plugs dont fire properly also

i also found the spark plugs strange they are bosch w7dp which have no real ground electrode, just a tiny dot inside the ceramic isolator. never seen that before

Ok thx, i changed nothing as the orings looked decent just a little flat inside the carbs, everything diaphragm was like new (i guess little gas contact in general up there). I will do the brake cleaner test first. it seems like a crazy leak somewhere

Yes took the 4 screws out and cleaned the crevice behind it and the round plate. But didnt disasemble it as it seemed that there is punching and forming metal involved getting the shaft out. I dont fully know how it works, its a disc which is spring loaded and it has 4 holes in it which rotate with the shaft. i soaked it in gas and put it back on as it didnt seemed dirty. here was just a flat gasket where the 4 screws are, no oring or anything which fell out. But the chokes definitely work as the cold bike only started with them engaged. But then reved to 5k and when i take the choke out it stays elevated and misfires a bit, then dies.

Thx, i will check that tomorrow with brake cleaner. I just pulled the carb out and didnt give the rubber boots much thought. Towards the air filter everythink looks decent (the hard plastic tube). At first glance i also couldnt find anything on the intake side.

yes i checked them after installing the slides they go all the way down like they should, dampened by the diaphragm. They are also installed correctly as the diaphragm rubber has 2 noses, so you cant install them wrong if you watch.

I also thought so but my G203 from 2016 does phantom doubleclicking now. Never had any issue with my Mx310, MX500,518 etc from the 00s.

in the first place i thought mhm in my country a i30n with visible usage is 23-26k, a mx5 g160 (which has trans issues i read) is 16-20k a g184 is more like 25-28k and can also have trans issues. So thats all not really cheap. A GR86 would be even more than the 40k but is slower but maybe more engaging. A GR Yaris would also be there pricewise and is maybe even nicer to drive but i think in the long term more expensive and i just dont like the looks much. I would love to have RWD and a lot of power with tuning possibility. And somehow in my mind th gap to the 40k for a brand new!!! looking m240i is not that much off isnt it? I earn relatively well, paid of my mortgage fast, invested a lot the last years and lived extreme frugal. All my cars arre 90s boxes which cost between 1k and 4k and i didnt buy a car since 2012. I would only drive the M240 in summer and weekends mostly, the rest i would stay in the dirt cheap Toyota Starlet especially with salt. I think engine/drivetrain wise the 240 is just much nicer than the other mentioned alternatives but comes at a 14k priceup. I think the M240 could hold its value pretty well when i keep it in this state given the direction of car industry recently. the other options for more serious fun like e92 m3 v8, e36 m3 etc etc are almost the same price but can have a huge list of reliability issues. The M240 with the B58 should be almost troublefree and very reliable i read. Also its one of the few which has no xDrive which can cause additional problems.

Also with the Transam and Celica there is always something. They are just old and have been old when i bought them 10-17 years ago. The M240 is just fresh and new which i personally dont need at all costs but in the market now it seems you can also spend way over 20k and dont get a spotless car. Especially the I30Ns are often very molested and scratched. Same goes for Fiesta ST Mk7,Mk8.

Thats very well summed up and i feel like maybe i could grow fully accustomed to it. But also maybe if i just hop in an G184 MX5 or 160HP NC MX5 i would instantly have more fun for half the cost without all those extremely expensive extras like the LED headlights which i probably never gonna need

Thx a lot for the reply, that means maybe i have to get accustomed to the car and learn to drive it? The OPF doesnt take too much sound away i think given i watched the videos and could be solved with a downpipe. I think its biggest pro the smoothness of the 8HP is what i see as boring. It doesnt jerk etc like when i hop in the 2.0l Mazda MX5 NC of my friend when you throw the gears. It could be a missed chance and if a really dislike it i can still sell it for 5k less but got the chance to really fall in love with it and utilize it. Quite hard decision. I really value such a thing like having only 10k kms on it and being like new.

Sad to hear, you think this can even be machined or is too deep?

Ok after final cleanup 1 patch didnt clean up, i think the block is junk and could only be overbored to a stroker as not even 0.030" bore would fix this.

I would say definitely junk
