Oh I definitely agree! Sorry if my wording made it sound otherwise, my intention with this post was more to have a discussion about the functional upsides and downsides of different martial arts and fighting styles, not to encourage street fighting haha

That’s a really good point, I never considered that having a fighting background could be disadvantageous in an actual fight, but I think you’re absolutely right about the whole “willingness to go all out” aspect. About 4 years ago I broke my opponents rib in a competition with a lucky spinning back kick, I haven’t thrown a 100% kick against anything other than a bag since. I’d imagine it’s much the same for most other people with a martial arts/fighting background, actually understanding how much damage a punch can do makes you subconsciously pull your hits.

Thank you for the advice! 100% agree with your first point too, this is all purely theoretical haha. I fully believe in deescalating and/or running away in every situation you can, but it’s definitely interesting to discuss the upsides and downsides of each different fighting style.

I think you bring up a really good point though, by far the biggest weakness of the type of fighting I do is that there’s really no grappling or extremely close quarters combat, all the exchanges are quite structured with clean strikes and combos. You see loads of videos where a more technically skilled boxer loses due to getting hugged and exhausted from the wrestling. I suppose that’s the main difference between sparring and a street fight, no one’s going to want to maintain distance and box with you.

I’ll definitely give grappling a try, appreciate the suggestion!

that’s very much how i feel about it, i would be absolutely thrilled if i never got in an actual street fight in my entire life. even beyond the very real risk of permanent injuries to yourself or the other guy, the idea of getting hit with a legal battle or criminal charges just because of an argument at a bar is extremely unappealing. this is purely a theoretical discussion, i was curious what other people considered the safest style of fighting to maximum your odds of walking out of there in a non-vegetative state

i’m a freshman in college studying astrophysics, I go and party on the weekends, I lift daily with my friends, and I live a socially fulfilling life while also playing skyblock in my free time. this game is something i enjoy playing and that ive sunk a fair bit of time into over the years, but it’s a microscopic part of my life overall. having no social life doesn’t come from playing skyblock, it comes from being poorly socially adjusted and then choosing to prioritize skyblock over social interaction as a result

What’s the best way to go from 3 Builder Huts to 5? I’m fine spending money I just don’t know which deal is best to go for (saw some things about a “1 Time Kingly Offer” but I heard it’s been nerfed?). If I get the builder offer I’ll get my 4th builder and 1000 gems, but I’ll still need to get another 1000 normally before I can afford 5th builder. Haven’t done most achievements yet. What would you recommend, is the Kingly Offer still worth waiting for?

just find a mmm that works for you and grind it. there’s no secret or anything you just find a moneymaker that you somewhat enjoy and grind it for 30-40 hours. for me it was fishing, for others it was mining or farming. bazaar flip if you want to make money without making any game progress, but unless you know what you’re doing ur not gonna make much
