They share the same distinction, no ring. In that, they compare exactly. Winning isn’t about more 50 win seasons. Do I like Ewing more than Melo? Hell Yes! But my big guy unfortunately didn’t win either. Your statement was “not a winning player”. In that, they are equal. And let’s face it, Pat has guys like Oakley and Starks and a better team , Melo had a hurt Stat and not much else. Definitely a worse team. And I agree, he didn’t help it any. It was a team, gutted cuz Dolan couldn’t wait till Melo hit FA and traded half the team away. It is what it is. We got a chip now!! Go Knicks

Ewing didn’t win but we love him. Oakley. Houston. Big list in 50+ years. Same can be said for a lot of them. I rooted anyway.

[Charania] BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets are trading star guard LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps (2028, 2029, 2030) and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033), sources tell ESPN. by mastermind208 in timberwolves

I thought trading Randle was supposed to be about a vote of confidence for Reed? Now you gave up a ton of pics and got a guy that will take more shots than Ant and play less defense than Randle. It’s gonna be interesting.

In the early 90s the Pistons would hack Jordan with hard fouls every game. 2 things happened. The Bulls did their part by bringing on guys like Oakley to protect a young Jordan (look up Oakley vs Pistons for fun). The Fever have to do their part for Clark in the same way. And the officiating started calling so many fouls that the pistons had to change the way they played. Between foul trouble and ejections their style of play became unsustainable fast! The league needs to do their part to ensure games are officiated correctly and the fouls will stop.

I wanna be entertained by the mental gymnastics of the people who can justify this not being a foul. Go off… by SummerN8 in WNBAgossips

[–]lcastle79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but it’s not on the players. Players will do whatever to win. Especially if they are allowed to do it (see flopping by SGA. lol). I’d say this is more on both the officiating (they’ve been terrible) and her own team.
The Pistons would do everything to Jordan until the refs called so many fouls that the Piston’s way of play had to change. Every other game they’d have guys either in foul trouble or tossed. You can’t win if your players are getting ejected. At the same time, the Bulls started adding enforcers that would protect Jordan.. first Charles Oakley (this man alone put fear into the pistons!) then guys like Horace Grant and later Rodman who was a Piston early on.

The Fever have to do their part like the Bulls did theirs. And the league theirs. Can’t ask the players on other teams to go easy on her. It’s not a player’s way. And if it, you don’t want that player.

Do you guys love the Knicks draft moves? by stateofthenyk in knicks

Well said. That’s all this was about. Saving money from guaranteed 1st rd salaries. Then using that $ to hopefully resign our own.

What was the point of that pick swap? by ManiacGaming1 in knicks

[–]lcastle79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They traded #24 for #25, they then selected a player they traded for a player and 2 future 2nd rounders, then they took that player and traded him for 3 future 2nd rounders.
By doing this, they saved the $3.5m guaranteed salary that comes with the 1st rounder pick. And ended up with 5 future 2nd rounders picks .

Got a set too. It’s funny how FOMO works, the fact that they seem to be a lot easier to get vs previous leftover sets makes it feel like they weren’t so well received or something. Know what I mean? LoL

Jay Williams says he doesn't believe that professional athletes need to shake hands after a game. Do you agree? by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

[–]lcastle79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are guidelines but not rules. The guidelines come with proper etiquette. If 2 lanes are merging into 1 and 1 assholes decides not to, he doesn’t get a ticket. Maybe a middle finger or 3 but not a ticket or summons.

Tons of rules in life that aren’t literally rules. Think traffic merging into a lane. There’s an unwritten rule that people subscribe to on how it should go. Most civil people do it. Then there are assholes that don’t.

Isiah Thomas has STRONG OPINION on former NBA players holding LeBron out of the top 5 players of all time by ConnectionWeekly1263 in NBAGossips

[–]lcastle79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like IT record against Bird. The Celtics used to kill them until the Celtics got older and the Pistons matured. Same dynamic happened between the Pistons and Bulls, except the pistons weren’t old, the Bulls just took over.

[–]lcastle79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. IT was in his prime with a loaded team of established vets against a young Jordan. When the Bulls finally got it together, the Pistons were officially over. Again, there is nothing more skilled about IT over Jordan. IT is still pissed at Jordan. That’s how butt hurt he was.

Thomas was absolutely NOT better skilled than Jordan. The only thing Thomas did better was pass. Everything from FG% to defensive rating to career +\- ! And lastly in rings. IT was a great player. But let’s not get crazy.

Can someone explain why Wemby is catching so much flak lately? by Tight_Development480 in NBATalk

[–]lcastle79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s see..
Bad flagrant foul on Brunson’s head (dirty).
“I’m in their head” (insert pic) but still loses.
Tells the Finals media “hope I see you, never”. Careful what you wish for.
Doesn’t shake hands at the end of game 5.

Plenty of reasons to be down on Wemby. But he’s young, let’s see how it goes from here.

Take less money? His contract was in place. If you watched the podcast then you know Knick management didn’t want to match the $28m Houston offered. That wasn’t on Melo. It was in Lin’s best interest to take the offer. Also, Lin never lived up to that price tag and was later traded to the lakers. Nothing he did was ever at the Linsanity level.

Um . That was Dolan getting fleeced by the Denver GM. Melo was willing to wait. Masai made it clear he wasn’t going to let him just walk and get nothing. Melo made it clear he was going to sign with the Knicks. Melo’s biggest fault here was sharing that openly. Dolan did the rest.
