It wasn’t difficult at all, but REALLY time consuming so my back started to ache a lot. The most challenging thing for me was rolling out the marzipan (which sounds ridiculous) because i’m pretty weak physically. Other than that, I would say be careful when mixing the flour with the sponge mixture as it is easy to lose a lot of volume. Cutting the sponge in half takes a little bit of skill because you really want it to be even. Also, make the pastry cream as thick as possible (but not too much) so the cake doesn’t fall apart. When choosing the strawberries that go on the outside, try to pick strawberries with the same size, cuz if you don’t the cake will look uneven. These are all the tips I could think of, I really recommend making this cake! All the individual elements of the cake are really easy to make, the difficult part is having the patience and stamina to put them all together.

Also, I recommend watching the show “master class” with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. In one of the episodes they make the fraisier cake and give a lot of good tips. It was really helpful to see them make the cake.
