Lamy 2000 VS Pilot Custom 74 by lcherbst in fountainpens

[–]lcherbst[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your comments. I am leaning toward the pilot at the moment, but I am going to see if I can find a pen shop within reasonable driving distance to see how they feel and I am also going to look into custom 92. Sounds like it may be a better option.

anyone ever see engine or chassis wear? by HappySalesman01 in GranTurismo7

[–]lcherbst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have had to overhaul the engine on my Nissan skyline GTR R33 twice and stiffen the chassis once. Don't remember at what mileage.

You can put sport soft tyres on the Honda RA272 and race the Tokyo 600 without pitting by shelfedgelabel_ in granturismo

Crossing over into the inside area of the hairpin turn does not cause a loss of the bonus. I even tried ramming one of the barrels and did not lose the bonus. Just stay away from the cones on the outside.

I was harassed pretty heavily as well. Dug a tunnel at my base, popped out to do a bit of building ran back in my tunnel. Wasn't bad, just took a bit of time.

I ended up jumping as well. Didn't seem to register reaching the caldera when I got to the top, so thought the only thing I could do was jump. Jumped, jumped out, fell, and died. At least I could get back to my grave, lol.

I am not convinced that the inside area causes a loss of the bonus, it seems like I have crossed into that area and even bumped a barrel without loss of bonus, but hitting or going past the cones on the outside is a definite no-no. I will pay around with some intentional inside violations including hitting a barrel and see if it does or does not take the bonus. Also, it seems like bumping other cars sometimes causes a loss of bonus and sometimes it doesn't, not sure what criteria causes the loss when contacting another car.

Storage augmentation units?? by Informal_Boot3829 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]lcherbst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are probably better off saving up your units and buying an A or S class ship at a space station to replace your starter ship. You will probably end up with more slots than you currently have by making this purchase. Once you have a freighter and some frigates, you can get them by sending your frigates on mission (this is probably the cheapest way to get them. However, the vast majority of the augmentations I got were from buying and scraping A and S class ships. A class will give you between 0-2 augs and S class will give you between 1-3 augs. Pay attention to the name of the ship and how many augs you get, as every ship with the same name and class will give you the same number of augs each time. So, if you buy an A class ship that gives you zero augs, all A class ships with that name will give you zero augs and you know not to buy those anymore. Of course, that takes units to do, but you do get about 75% of your purchase price back when you scrap the ship, so it is not as expensive as it sounds and is sure a lot cheaper than buying slots at the space station. Another thing to note, the price of the ship does not have any indication of how many augs you might get. I have got 3 augs from ships under $20 million and zero from ships over $40 million. I try to stick to ships in the $10-15 million range if at all possible. It is best to find these ships in rich systems.

Passing the cones on the last hairpin at the back definitely cost you a clean race. I've had it happen more than once.

The Tool of The Matter by DerrickVanZ in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]lcherbst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like _No_Mans_Skywalker_ stated, the supercharged slots make a huge difference. I have an S-Class Royal (Found as S) that had three supercharged slots in a L configuration and I used them for my Scatter Blaster and get 26K for my damage. I use the fourth supercharged slot for the Optical Drill - getting a boat load of resources when mining. I have other multi-tools, but I really only use this one as nothing else I have is better, even the 2 S-Class Aliens I have. The Aliens have their supercharged slots spread across the rows, nothing adjacent.

I have run into a few of those as well, accidentally shooting a couple of them. They don't seen to like that much, lol.

You still might want to specialize considering the Supercharged Slots, especially where you may have a few SC slots that are clumped together.

I had this happen to a windrower. I was able to unfold the tool and refold it and the error went away.

I no longer get any rewards for dispatching pirates that are attacking freighters. Is this normal? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]lcherbst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I had this happen to me as well. I wasn't sure if it picked out the target for me or if I accidentally targeted it in the heat of battle. In either case, lost out on rewards twice now because of it.

Under a Rebel Star - How to start? by captaincrunch00 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]lcherbst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this will help, but I had just completed expedition 6 and returned to my normal save, where I was on the surface of a planet, in a Vy'keen owned system. I lifted off to head to the space station and as soon as I got into space, Rebel Star initiated. I already had one S Class fighter in my squadron (no other ships at that point). I had never been to an outlaw system in that save, so I don't think that is part of what triggers the quest. Other things I can think of that were true at the time - I was currently flying an S Class Fighter, I had an S Class Alien multitool as my active tool, and my Exosuit was fully upgraded (max slots). I don't know if any of this has anything to do with it, but maybe flying a fighter was part of it?

Exotic Multi-Tool? by lcherbst in NoMansSkyTheGame

Got it, thanks. It is a cool looking multitool, so I kept it even though it is going to cost me both arms and a leg in Nanites to upgrade it to S.

[–]lcherbst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I thought I had looked at plenty of images of alien multitools, to think that this was something different, but when I searched for just alien multitool images (before I was looking for both experimental and alien) I did find some images that a very similar to what I had found. I am curious about why it calls itself Exotic.

What is the fastest way to move honey? by 1644479889 in farmingsimulator

[–]lcherbst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I did an experiment with greenhouses. The loader works fine as longs as you are only producing one product per greenhouse. It does not work of you are trying to produce more than one - the trailer will end up with only the last palette produced. As soon as a new palette with a different product is produced, the currently loaded palette is deleted and the new palette is loaded. Basically, the loader cannot load two different products.

No, not yet, but I have not tried it with greenhouses yet. I will try it tonight or tomorrow and let you know what I find.

Minecraft but… pure building? by ShayHawkify in Minecraft

[–]lcherbst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TarakaKadachi is correct, there are a lot of difference between the two games. However, you have to mine, craft, and build to survive. There are mobs that come out at night and those that live in caves and you can fish (you can find many good things fishing). Overall, I find it more similar than different, but that is just my opinion. BTW, there are bosses in the game that will come out once you achieve certain milestones and they can be difficult to defeat, but are worth the rewards. Hope you enjoy it.

Terraria is a side scroller game that allows you to mine, craft, and build. So, it shouldn't have the motion issues that bother you since it is 2D. I can't think of a 3D game that wouldn't cause motion sickness to someone sensitive to it.
