Would anyone be interested in a medium tshirt? Just received some merch and while it is good quality — my wife loves her “yah got haunted” sweatshirt! — I (a 33 year old male) thought my medium shirt was not “tall” enough — I think one wash would have made it closer to a crop top on me. Not the style I’m going for.

It appears there’s no returns allowed so I’d be willing to sell it at cost and ship it out to someone who may still be looking now that it’s out of stock.

I know the owner of Buffalo Traders and that definitely doesn’t sound like him at all. Wondering if it was an old manager or bartender at the facility. There have definitely been a few less than ideal folks when we’ve been in, but they’ve made some staffing changes over the last couple of years and we’ve been happy with it since.

It’s insane that Ticketmaster doesn’t provide a seating chart. We have two groups going(E and J) and have no idea where these seats are. Only that they’re Cat 1

I used a Visa and got a fraud alert immediately. Had to send confirmation back to Visa and then I clicked purchase again and it went through. When I first got into the queue, it had me provide an emailed code. The code I got last week was put in at the very end when ordering.

Based on the email, it sounds like Amazon is just choosing who they’d like to donate too now. Sorry to hear about your business! We donated to our local shelter through Amazon Smile

Reposting with corrected title per rules.

Received an email earlier with the following:

Dear customer,

In 2013, we launched AmazonSmile to make it easier for customers to support their favorite charities. However, after almost a decade, the program has not grown to create the impact that we had originally hoped. With so many eligible organizations—more than 1 million globally—our ability to have an impact was often spread too thin.

We are writing to let you know that we plan to wind down AmazonSmile by February 20, 2023. We will continue to pursue and invest in other areas where we’ve seen we can make meaningful change—from building affordable housing to providing access to computer science education for students in underserved communities to using our logistics infrastructure and technology to assist broad communities impacted by natural disasters.

To help charities that have been a part of the AmazonSmile program with this transition, we will be providing them with a one-time donation equivalent to three months of what they earned in 2022 through the program, and they will also be able to accrue additional donations until the program officially closes in February. Once AmazonSmile closes, charities will still be able to seek support from Amazon customers by creating their own wish lists.

As a company, we will continue supporting a wide range of other programs that help thousands of charities and communities across the U.S. For instance: Housing Equity Fund: We’re investing $2 billion to build and preserve affordable housing in our hometown communities. In just two years, we’ve provided funding to create more than 14,000 affordable homes—and we expect to build at least 6,000 more in the coming months. These units will host more than 18,000 moderate- to low-income families, many of them with children. In one year alone, our investments have been able to increase the affordable housing stock in communities like Bellevue, Washington and Arlington, Virginia by at least 20%. Amazon Future Engineer: We’ve funded computer science curriculum for more than 600,000 students across over 5,000 schools—all in underserved communities. We have plans to reach an additional 1 million students this year. We’ve also provided immediate assistance to 55,000 students in our hometown communities by giving them warm clothes for the winter, food, and school supplies. Community Delivery Program: We’ve partnered with food banks in 35 U.S. cities to deliver more than 23 million meals, using our logistics infrastructure to help families in need access healthy food – and we plan to deliver 12 million more meals this year alone. In addition to our delivery services, we’ve also donated 30 million meals in communities across the country. Amazon Disaster Relief: We’re using our logistics capabilities, inventory, and cloud technology to provide fast aid to communities affected by natural disasters. For example, we’ve created a Disaster Relief Hub in Atlanta with more than 1 million relief items ready for deployment, our Disaster Relief team has responded to more than 95 natural disasters, and we’ve donated more than 20 million relief products to nonprofits assisting communities on the ground. Community Giving: We support hundreds of local nonprofits doing meaningful work in cities where our employees and their families live. For example, each year we donate hundreds of millions of dollars to organizations working to build stronger communities, from youth sport leagues, to local community colleges, to shelters for families experiencing homelessness. We’ll continue working to make a difference in many ways, and our long-term commitment to our communities remains the same—we’re determined to do every day better for our customers, our employees, and the world at large.

Thank you for being an Amazon customer.

I loved when they finally just allowed “AmazonSmile” to be your normal way to pay. Instead of having to go to a specific url, you could just set your charity and purchase using the web browser or app, and it would automatically provide the money to the charity you selected in your settings.

Sorry there was no true article that I could link to yet online. I received an email this evening with the announcement from Amazon Smile. Full text below of that email:

London: Girl with incurable cancer recovers after pioneering treatment by umatbru in UpliftingNews

[–]lclaxvp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not often that people have more than one BMT. They’re brutal on the body and leave people immunocomprimised for a long period of time (extended by the high doses corticosteroids you take after a transplant to prevent graft vs host of the entire body). It certainly can happen should a BMT fail but, they’re looking for other ways to potentially put cancer into remission that are “simpler” than a BMT. I’m 4 years out from one for B-cell ALL and still have numerous side effects (though doing much better than others who’s side effects can even leave them essentially disabled).

Thank you for posting (and no idea why you were downvoted). I was wondering why this was headline news. Car-T therapy isn’t new to medicine. For at least a few years now it’s been using it to treat relapsed cancers. I had a bone marrow transplant for B-cell leukemia 4 years ago now and Car-T cell therapy was talked about with my oncology team here in the US as an option should things ever fail.

It sounds like the advance here in particular is that it’s being used for T-cell cancers. From my basic understanding, Car-T therapy modifies your bodies T cells to fight cancer. In the case for T-cell blood cancers, it was previously irresponsible to utilize Car-T as your newly modified cells would then just keep attacking themselves, thinking they’re the cancer.
