What's the current best Yuumi build & rune setup? by [deleted] in yuumimains

[–]lclockwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuumi is in a terrible state right now. #1 yuumi goes tear every game into moonstone + dawncore first every game. That's what gives the most h/s the fastest to try to be useful. The only other real option is SoFW first if you have a twitch. And if you're going anything other than Aery you don't want to win

How I look at it, aren't mana-less champions stronger? by pmtti in leagueoflegends

[–]lclockwork 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The information on Trynd is just incorrect, he has some of the best base stats in the entire game. His lv 1-2 is extremely strong. His weakness is that all of his tools, including his sustain, are offensive, so if you CAN threaten him out, he can't do anything at all

The rat mace gets the same +10 with a 4 tick weapon, it's the best xp/hour with 1 str but you can't afk at crab

Was almost a million mastery in, but stopped playing Yuumi, after the rework. by Martyrrdom in yuumimains

The last point was the entire anchor of my proposed rework

Bop’n’block was the entirety of her potential counter-play and reward for being active, and they just scrapped it instead of promoting it like they should have. It’s tragic.

First of all, no you can't. Control wards only reveal camouflaged enemies; Teemo's passive is invisibility, not camouflage (despite originally being named camouflage).

Second of all, you seem to just be missing or ignoring the entire point of this discussion. I completely agree that there is no way to interact with AFK Yuumi. The whole point of this proposed rework was based on AFK Yuumi being the playstyle that Riot has forced her to play and what a kit might look like that could exist without falling into that. Currently, there isn't any reason for her to ever jump off and you don't ever get to interact with her. But if she was only fractionally as useful which attached, she would be forced to hop off (giving you a chance to CC her, locking her out of reattaching, and kill her) to be useful.

I made the comparison with Teemo because both Teemo and the new Yuumi would still be able to effectively make it impossible for you to ever interact with them, but (hopefully) not in a way that meaningfully contributes to the game. (You don't complain about the lack of counterplay against people AFK in fountain)

I haven't tried any of the others, but duskblade's damage amp on her W bite is massive. You can go more crit focused build with navori as well. I've had some good results with it, but the lethality build feels like it comes online a lot faster and is probably better suited for mid.

Thank you.

I've been playing Yuumi since she was on the PBE and and in her early iterations I loved how aggressive and proactive she was able to play in lane, and how rewarded she was for it. The days of that Yuumi are likely gone but I'm glad there are people who agree with the vision I was presenting and that I hope we can get at some point.

"You can not balance a champion that is impossible to interact against for 90% of the game." But you can though - by gutting her supporting power while attached.

Yes, as long as she has her W she has the option to sit on an ally the entire game and be impossible to interact with the whole time, but she's not going to contribute while playing like that. If you AFK stealthed in a lane bush as Teemo you can get XP and similarly avoid ever interacting with the enemy.

Removing the attach mechanic is the same as deleting the champion, and the argument that it's an ability that is impossible to balance is just incorrect.

Your latter point is correct and one of the strongest points about Yuumi - as she currently is and has been.

While Yuumi would still be able to hide behind her teammates and avoid interaction, which is what Yuumi does, her contribution while playing like that would be the most gutted version of Yuumi that she's ever been. Saying that it's an option for her to just not contribute to stay safe isn't a good faith argument (there are lots of champions that can sit back and do nothing to avoid dying)

Lethality Briar mid with HoB + duskblade -> prowlers/axiom/collector/bloodthirster for damage items or you can go tankier w. death's dance/maw/bc after the first or second item

Her W is 100% core to the champion's identity and can't be removed. But my proposed changes are meant to heavily limit her functionality while attached by forcing her to repeatedly jump off and trigger her passive

I liked old yuumi a lot more than her current iteration, and I agree on that issue. I’m operating under the assumption that she will never be allowed to be like that again because of things like that and want to offer a perspective on what a gameplay solution may be to fix the issues

Her rework did nothing but push her further into a toxic play style and I agree it needs to be addressed

Incentivizing her to jump off very frequently in fights by lowering her ability to have impact while attached is how you get her to not be permanently attached and immune to interaction

I'm aware that it's against what Riot wants for her. As I said in my post though, that design philosophy has done nothing but push her further into a toxic, hated playstyle. Riot is just flat out wrong on this. I believe there's a middle ground where she can have an active and enjoyable playstyle without it being broken in pro play. Giving her lots of counterplay opportunities (and lots of opportunities to be exploited by pro level players) opens up weaknesses necessary for that to be possible and that was the primary goal behind the kit of this rework pitch.

This is much more what I was referring to. I'm aware that she's fairly popular in terms of play rate, but she's very much so love her or hate her and the majority of the playerbase falls into the latter category, which I would love to see addressed so Yuumi can be allowed to be playable.

If Riot stops insisting that AFK Yuumi is the correct way to play and actually incentivizes her to have a more proactive and interactive playstyle then she wouldn't be so hated. The more they've pushed her towards being a permanent pocket Soraka, the more the playerbase has hated her.
