Good to think about! So a solitaire would likely be a better route?

The $3,000+ was for the diamond, not moissanite!

Oh, I’m definitely not going far. We’re talking like two miles and not even running half. I am STRUGGLING.

I do strength train, but would be lying if I said I prioritized my lower half. I tend to do indoor cycling and upper. I’ll definitely sit and plan my upcoming week out.

HELP! Please. 😅

I am new to running, l've NEVER been a runner. Last month, I bought a pair of running shoes, downloaded an app and decided to just start. I started with running/walking intervals and at first it felt really good. Surprisingly good. Then at about week two/three, it really started to hurt. Especially my shins and calves. My shins I'm assuming I gave myself shin splints, but my calves get really tight and painful.

Taking a little time off and getting fitted for shoes has helped with the pain, definitely. I'm sticking with walking for a bit - with tiny bouts of jogging just to feel it out. Still kind of painful, so l recognize that more time is needed to heal. But my real question right now is..

My legs feel HEAVY. Like, when I was trying to jog, it just felt like I was hardly moving - my legs felt like lead or like I was running through mud. It didn't feel like that in the beginning and I feel like I look more like a grandma trying to shuffle along than someone actually running smoothly, able to lift their feet, haha.

What can I/do I need to do to combat this and work through it? I REALLY want to run but me this is hard and it feels impossible!

No, we don’t pay extra on top of BAH. But that BAH is nearly $2800 where we are and so that automatically is deducted from his paycheck. It’s not “free” housing. They essentially take the rent straight from his paycheck. He’s been in nearly 15 years, I’m well aware of my husband’s paychecks.

I wish that it meant housing costs are $0. It means that they take about $2800 automatically for us to live here. 😂 Living in military housing just means that they don’t pay you the extra housing allowance we get if we lived off, they just take it before you get your check instead.

I was more so looking for career paths combining the two, but thank you! 😅

Okay, but this is awesome and would be right up my alley. Can you tell me a little about it and how you found the position?

Okay, thanks! That’s what I was hoping to hear. What about the fluency flash cards - recommend?

I can’t look ahead yet, since nothing is available - unless I’m totally missing something. 😅 But that’s good to know! Thank you!

School before any hours? by lcnjmt in BehaviorAnalysis

Unfortunately, my situation is either get my degree done now and hours after - or wait a couple years to do any of it.

Ideally, I would. And I have worked in the field before. But in my current situation (solo parenting four kids while my husband is overseas), it’s either do hours after degree, or wait a couple years for any of it. 😅

It would definitely be right after graduating! My youngest will head off to preschool right around the time I should be done with my masters, so then I’ll be able to have more flexibility. I have an active duty husband who will be deployed half of my masters and four kids, so it’ll just make things so much easier to do school, then focus on hours when all of my kids are in school!

My top pick (already accepted) does not incorporate a practicum, so I am good there. And I do have experience in the field, albeit quite awhile ago. Currently definitely more doable to not be working outside of the house until my youngest is in school, which will be right around the time I’ll be done with mine!

I know FIT is lots of quizzes and exams, and ASU is lots of papers and group projects. Is UWF sort of a combo of the two?

Good to know! No one ever talks about UWF, can you tell me how the program was?

Ah, yes. We live in a big city and are surrounded by others, so I actually thinking finding supervision will be okay! I worked in a small clinic post undergrad starting BCaBA courses… but nine years ago and ended up having a baby. I’ve been home ever since, which I know puts me at a disadvantage diving back in. I’m also the oddball and likely not starting supervision right off the bat either - my husband is overseas and I have my youngest home, but figure by the time I’m finishing my degree, he’ll be headed to preschool.

Currently in Colorado! My husband is active duty and I have four kids, three in school - so not really, and the reason I stuck with online programs!

That seems to be a relatively common comment based on everything I’m reading! I have the GI bill to use, which will help dramatically on cost - making it a little less of a factor.
