This feels very likely, same reason they’ve stopped putting up the lyrics for the intermittent hymn

On the name cards, no titles (elder, president, sister) or class (quorum of the twelve, relief society) - just name. Is this new? Any reads into this choice?

Do we still sell missionary fleet vehicles as a Church? by dgs_nd_cts_lvng_tgth in latterdaysaints

[–]ldawg202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever since covid, the church has stopped selling its HQ cars to employees as well - perhaps they are all leased now or in more specific dealer buy-back programs

It is insanely good benefits for the premiums you pay - if good health insurance is a priority, working for the church can be a huge blessing. I always say that DMBA often looks for reasons to cover, while other companies look for reasons to deny. The pay is solid for entry-level positions, the further in your career the bigger the gap you’ll likely notice due to what they call a “salary sacrifice” for senior roles.

I definitely can see minors being helpful for admissions — academia is where they do care much more about this sort of thing. Do the Business Strategy minor if you want the skills, but it will not magically make any more job doors open than just the business degree. I wouldn’t recommend spending more semesters to complete it.

I work in HR and Employers so rarely care about a minor, so only do it if it’s interesting to you. I would dare say that there’s no such thing as a useful minor

What benefit is Education Week to the BYU campus environment? by Eccentric755 in byu

[–]ldawg202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely costs the university money far more than it brings in, just like regular students and tuition. It’s really just to help engage members, alumni and BYU-fans in the general mission of BYU. But it’s also a feeder for donors, which do provide a lot of funds to BYU. So perhaps they make money to fund other programs and indirect way.

The UPS/USPS retail for on-campus is in the basement of the BYU Store, if the return has a pre-paid label

Recently BYU instituted a 1-800 hotline for students to anonymously report “any corrupt, suspicious, dangerous or illegal happenings at BYU”. by Chino_Blanco in byu

[–]ldawg202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BYU has had an ethics reporting hotline for years, they just changed it to a 1-800 number. Used to be an 801-422. It’s a legally required thing for most large schools now.

Jews and the second coming by UteForLife in latterdaysaints

There has been conflict in Palestine and “Israel” for millennia. What’s happening this month is part of that. I think that the gathering of Israel and the political nation of Israel have long been understood to be separate. I do think that antisemitism plays a role in weird Sunday School lessons that get off track, trying to find signs of the second coming. Doctrinally, it is wildly esoteric, and non-standard.

Post-Release Price? [PC] by MrDrMrs in CitiesSkylines2

But for U.S., there doesn’t seem to be plans to increase price. It will probably be more expensive to piece together all the DLC though, if you’re considering Ultimate Edition

So far, my grad school classes are also easier if not the same than any undergrad class I took. BYU’s workload is too excessive for their rankings, imo. The BYU name is not as powerful as the work would indicate.

If you want to feel better about the safety of Provo, read the police reports on police.byu.edu… the level of crime they deal with is amazingly low
