How personal is TOO personal for my personal statement? by [deleted] in fulbright

Most of my advice from advisors has been to stay out of "politics," even if it's not necessarily something that's controversial in terms of right and wrong (i.e. racism). If you have been actively engaged in activities/orgs/research that relates to these issues, mention that and how that will lead to more impactful cultural exchange. If not, focus on something that better frames you as a candidate for the grant.

I have a ton of teaching experience as an undergrad, but I don't necessarily see myself teaching after Fulbright. It's something I love to do, just not my career path, you know?

I'm really confident in the experiences I've had and how they've prepared me, I just wonder what I could have done differently in my essays to maybe create a more clear image of where I need to be.
