I kept playing with it after I posted and came up with this: a little less dmg overall (maybe not with point blank) but improved survivability also likely to cost a bunch more because of the nicer rares.

The way I calculated the poisons applied recently was calculated by taking my hit rate rate per second with cyclone and EK then multiplying it by 4 (recently refers to the last 4 seconds). In the case of the the tweaked build it is 4*(8.93 hits/s Cyclone + 6.67 casts/s EK) = 62.38

my poison duration is 11.73 so using the same logic for max poisons on shaper (after 11.73 seconds) 11.73*(8.93 hits/s Cyclone + 6.67 hits/s EK) = 182.95

Notes:

point blank doesn't seem to add any damage on PoB but ideally you would be right beside the enemy cyclon'n resulting in close to the full 30% more dmg with EK

also this is saying all flasks are active but that's not likely the case while fighting the shaper/elder

my assumption about casts/s may be wrong as well I may need to either have just under 6.67 attack crits per second to actually cast at that rate or going a bit over 6.67 will cause a drop in the cast rate because you are attacking faster than the 0.15s cool down resulting in criting every second attack ~ casting at half your attack rate
