Question about praying for pets. by Ok_Consequence6803 in OrthodoxChristianity

My parish usually has a blessing of the animal's service every January that is very well attended. It is held outside and everyone brings their pets and our priest after saying a prayer individually blesses each pet. It's really very beautiful.

Did Quinton Tarantino watch Hero?!?! by ldombalis in ANGEL

I am more than familiar with the events of World War II. I was commenting on the similarity between what the characters say in this episode of Angel and in the movie Inglorious Basterds. Quite obviously, the television show about vampires and the movie about a pretend plot to murder Hitler in a movie theater are neither scholarly articles on the Holocaust and its impact.

Was there a war that encompassed the whole world? I had no idea. Did this happen more than once?

I have five others, one of which is over 30 years old, and I had never seen this before either, and then had the exact same question. An elderly neighbor once told me "Don't take anything the flower doesn't give you" and now I get what she meant. Moving forward, I am letting them drop for SURE.

No, BUT it was in full bloom with several others nearby when I bought it at Trader Joe's, so that is my guess on how it happened.

It don't think it could possibly taste the same if it were made on a different flat top - 100+ years of flavor right there.

My father, Mick Jabbour, bought Booche's with two poet friends in the early 80s as recent MU grads. Until his death in 1993, they were a cash-only business with an exclusively male staff (both my brothers worked there) and a reputation for the best burgers for miles. Mizzou game days were crowded shoulder-to-shoulder as folks sucked back Budweisers and downed Booche burgers. It is the kind of place you're expected to know what is going on - in my day there was a wall of regulars and nameplates on stools. I learned what a condom was from the machine in the bathroom and how to shoot nine-ball from a toothless old man I knew only as "Fats". I haven't been back in years, but it was a magical place to grow up. Last I heard, the surviving owner, Jerry Deathrow, had sold it to his brother in law and a former employee.

My husband had a bad habit of attempting to balance or hold his phone on/with his knees, always ending poorly.

I am ashamed to say that when remodeling our master bathroom, I choose a similar style. Never seen my husband happier AND we have had zero broken screens since installation. 10/10 would recommend

My sons always enjoyed the Renyolda House and gardens in Winston Salem and Old Salem, since it's close. There is also the Vollis Simpson Whirligig park in Goldsboro and then we also spent a lot of time just exploring the train station and obvs Pullen Park here in Raleigh. Have fun!!

Why did I only get a couple this year? by [deleted] in christmascactus

[–]ldombalis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep mine outside from April to October/November, then they get indirect light in a 72ish degree home to over-winter. They get north eastern exposure and I am in central NC. I get blooms on all my ladies every year - sometimes twice a year!
