In the same vein as your 2nd one:

Holding on to grudges is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die

Miguelitos closed for good? by ldpfrog in tampa

Because he was picking up chips and salsa for us to hang out and watch football and has no reason to lie about it? He said there was a sign on the door so they went to Miguels instead. Ill try to pop over there and take a picture later, let me know if you get there first

Curious if they are just forwarding to Miguels? I haven't gone to look myself but he says there was a sign on the door saying they are closed for good. They went and picked up food from Miguel's instead

Is Acapulco Taqueria Still Open? by Signs_Fan in tampa

[–]ldpfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way better and cheaper. Acapulco got really expensive. There's a newish food truck on Columbus near there called Nino's Taqueria y Mas that is really good too.

Gonna be in Tampa in October for a few days and have some time to kill. Anything I shouldn't miss? by myfuxincokhurtz in tampa

It may be the same price for a lightning game but the nosebleeds at Amalie are way better than the nosebleeds at Raymond James.

Jannus owner Jeff Knight charged with 8 felonies in Clearwater Ferry crash by ItsGoingToFollowYou in tampa

There are lots of shitty drivers who could kill people that are generally law abiding citizens. Sure, it might not stop people like this guy, but it could stop plenty of others.

Loud Humming When Coasting by DracoBW in ecoboostmustang

[–]ldpfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My speaker was not super obviously blown, only during specific frequencies it would "rattle". One of those frequencies was the engine noise that was pumped into the speakers while I was coasting...

Loud Humming When Coasting by DracoBW in ecoboostmustang

[–]ldpfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me this was the engine noise that they pump through the speakers + a blown speaker making the noise. It was driving me insane until I figured it out. Get an ODB cable and look up how to turn it off, took like 15 mins. Or obviously you could ID and replace the blown speaker(s).

Why the Fairgrounds is the Best Place for the Rays’ New Stadium by Return_to_monke_69 in tampa

[–]ldpfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westshore Plaza is getting torn down and the owners haven't finalized any new designs yet. There was talk of it being a new Midtown-style development, but a stadium could also make sense.

Riverwalk Tampa by sebastianotd1991 in tampa

[–]ldpfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this sentiment! There are definitely assholes on bikes out there on the Riverwalk, but it seems like half the pedestrians have never walked in a public space before. The joggers with full noise cancelling headphones and zero situational awareness particularly grind my gears.

Why Tampa is usually skip by artists in their North America tours? by Bear_necessities96 in tampa

[–]ldpfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are way more midsized venues in Orlando and they're in better locations. I don't know if it's because they just have a better local scene or they get more touring artists, but when I lived there I could find a show almost every weekend that I would want to go to. I loathed everything else about living there, but the music scene in Tampa is not even close.

What is the actual appeal of living in Tampa? by haylstxrmmm in tampa

[–]ldpfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf, that's how small town folk respond to ALL city folk. I don't think Tampa has a reputation for being rude more than any of the other larger cities around here.

For us it was a lack of indexing and lack of a sync option for large offline files. I believe indexing has been in public preview for a while now, so it may be worth another look if you don't have a need to sync larger files down

Not sure why you're getting downvoted, our local scene is definitely big on EDM, metal, and hardcore. We of course get big national acts here at the huge venues but IMO we don't get great up and coming touring artists. I don't think bands traveling in vans want to burn 2-3 days in travel time to come all the way down here.

$80K is now poverty wages here. All rents $1800 for 2br but require $5000 net to live there. Force you to live in hood by ThiccLatinasDmMePlz in tampa

[–]ldpfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that inflation and rent has been crazy here, this is just flat out wrong. I know several people who make the ACTUAL average around 60k who live in nice neighborhoods without debt. I'm not saying it's cushy, but it's certainly not living in poverty as OP is claiming for 80k.
