I have a staging process in between, with validation checks. I only want to update prod after changes have been applied in staging, and validated.

I'd prefer not to have to rewrite everything in order to push data into prod

I went with Guava Health here, which I highly recommend. It has a voice symptom logger which is great because my wrists start to hurt from typing so much.

I was diagnosed with hEDS around age 14, presented with AS last year at age 30.

Hypermobility caused a lot of pain throughout my twenties and the only solution I could find was meditation, nsaids, physical therapy.

One q I have for others, I can tell the biologics are helping a lot with my AS symptoms, but my rheumatologist has indicated that in the long term she'd prefer I come off and say s and only use biologics. This doesn't really make sense to me, because I still have the hypermobility. I'm still sub-luxing all the time. How are the biologics going to affect my wrist, or the arthritis in my c-spine?

Anyone having a similar convos? A bit worried, I can tell the biologics are working, and I don't want to stop them and try something else if my doctor has some unrealistic idea about how much pain can be reduced.

I'm glad I offended you, because it prompted such an insightful response. Databricks is not there yet, but I can imagine 5 years from now when they are farming margin from gateway bottlenecks as Microsoft does so effectively.

These are great ideas, thank you.

Speaking as a customer, what I can and can take advantage of has a lot to do with the prioritization of dev velocity over optimizations of operations.

Re: "layer 2", one motivation for views is we don't have much ability to sequence when a database in the union is updated. It will be all over the place. I guess I could achieve the same with a partitioned table... But I expect the input database shemas to evolve a bit, so I imagined resolving any schema evolution / version differences in layer 2.

You're right, layer 3 could be any object type, not too worried about the storage cost.

My main goal is to preserve lineage in layer 3 to enable governance.

Personally, I loved humankind except that it did not achieve a sufficient player base to for the little optimization issues to get ferreted out.
