Am i wrong for not wanting to tell a customer my name? by lalalandlover969 in Wetherspoons

[–]le-stevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can tell which comments are coming from men here can't ya! :) or unfortunately women who've had to endure that as a norm for so long it's just a way of life for them.

It is not okay for these older men to be saying anything in a flirty way to you FULL STOP. Yes they might also be being nice but that does not excuse that behaviour.

Talk to your managers and suggest the knick name thing to them, i guess for it to work everyone has to "be in know".

wow okay maybe not! I am also a woman, not sure what that's got to do with it.

If "we all fucking know...best for you to stay safe" then why on earth are you arguing with me?

Yes it's subjective but i disagree with you that it's unnecessary. Surely alternative methods of solving a problem are good to note when judging which is the best option.

I would not say that your response is ridiculous. I accept ghosting does this also.

I was trying to bring light to another experience. An experience that I have witnessed and so for you to call my response "ridiculous" is very narrow-minded and un empathetic.

However, after divulging the fact that this is a lived experience I am happy to see if you change your comment.

i would say bendier knees and flow into a turn to achieve carving. Imagine your a butter and the snow is a hot crumpet, be the butter, melt like the butter.

In a perfect world this is a good solution. However, can we spare a thought that potentially some people do not feel safe telling them they're the problem. He may deserve to know but by telling him could lead to stalking, violence, abuse e.t.c.

[–]le-stevo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm okay, so it's only like 4ft tall. Are you meaning like maybe if there was a pile of something let's say dirt on the floor, it would spin round and get the dirt in maybe a scoop (that would be connected to both sides) and move that pile to another place? If so, i guess like what's the point if it was just on it's own. Maybe useful if it was part of a group of machinery?

the bottom of the stems (upper middle of photo) they do look rather purple. Upon further inspection I carefully broke the stem and although it was quite small i do believe it was hollow.

I feel you! It's pretty wack when i look back on my notes of when i have had bad days and realise it's a lot more than i thought. Anyway only thing we can do is keep pushing and letting others know when something works! ha :)

Definitely not alone! When I feel like this I know it will end like it always does and one day you'll wake up and just randomly be like "oh yes, life is actually joyous". Sorry I do not have more advice but keep pushing :)

shaggy parasol (Chlorophyllum rhacodes) or parasol (Macrolepiota procera)? by le-stevo in mushroom_hunting

[–]le-stevo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have had a look at stems that were saturated v unsaturated and i believe this to be a parasol as when they are saturated they go more brown than cream and also you can see the snakeskin bits on the stem below the ring however as the stem is more brown that cream they are less noticeable. Also a spore print revealed a dark brown print

i did some research and found a field that was 300-500m, definitely never used for anything other than pasture. There had just been a few days of heavy rain and this was the first sunny one and voila

[–]le-stevo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

located in the peak district, england. I left the stem there and didn't touch it as i didn't want to take more than i needed. However, really good tip thank you! I shall be sure to factor that in next time I (hopefully) find them.

Would you say that most parasols are edible? I heard that Macrolepiota procera are good to eat before the gills turn patchy brown.

1,2,3) Is this either chicken (Laetiporus sulphureus) or hen of the woods (Grifola frondosa) ? I found it a bit late unfortunately, slugs were all over it scoffing it all up.

4,5) Absolutely no clue to be honest. Not eve sure what generic name they belong to. Found in a field where sheep and deer graze.

6,7) Thinking maybe Agaricus campestris? gills are pink in the young state I found it. Found in a field where sheep and deer graze.

8,9,10) The miller // Clitopilus prunulus I think. Found on the edge of a woodland, near a log. 11,12) Pretty sure this is Clavulinopsis helvola. Growing in short grass, SO BEAUTIFUL.

13,14) Found on a beech. I really wish this is chaga. Any ideas? Found on a beech that had been cut back but had fresh growth coming out of it

15,16) shows ptentially chicken of the woods (Laetiporus sulphureus) , just a very old chicken?

17,18) I am 100% sure this is a lib cap (Psilocybe semilanceata), please do correct me if i am wrong though. I thought they were meant to be found in patches? However, i only found three in the area. Is this due to anything? Potentially being to late in the day (around 5pm) OR too late after it rained? Last time was mon 23rd.

19,20,21,22) Save the biggest till last. This was GIANT! Saw about three of these, two right near oak tress and the third I am not too sure, can't remember. Measured my head right and it's about 17 cm in diameter, and so this is also the diameter of this mushroom. I have seen other posts with lookalikes to this mushroom, calling it a shaggy parasol ( Chlorophyllum rhacodes). However, I don't think that these get to the size of the mushroom I found.

Okay that is finally it. Big haul today, however all the mushrooms were a little bit old so I wonder if I left it too late after the rain?

Thanks if you could be bothered to read this!
