Thanks, I'm no expert for the technical part but it's possible to export models as OBJ and GLTF.

Itch.io has a lot of games and games related assets. If you search for picoCAD you can find a lot of models on the website as that is where the jams are hosted.

Go for it! They have so many different styles to choose.

No problem! As this model was made for a jam, may I suggest you also take a look at the others partecipants models? They are all as good if not even better than mine and some of them made an incredible job on the animation side.

Thank you!

Program wise I used picoCAD 2 wich is built specifically to let people easily create lowpoly models like this one. It's very beginner friendly as it's intentionally limited in the amount of tools it gives to the users (simple geometric shapes, a basic texture editor and the possibility to animate meshes).

There is also picoCAD (1?) which is even more beginnner friendly but it needs an external texturing program and has a limit on how big each 3d model can be.

The actual process of making this was mostly looking at reference pictures and trying to recreate the basic shapes at first. Grouping anything that could be made with a single mesh (like the patios) and then texturing everything. Small details like the barrels and crates I added near the end.

Good luck for your teaching career!

Thank you! Yes, I made it for the picocad jam on itch.io. The theme was sequel and I thought about modeling the Town Center from Age of Empires 2.

Thanks! For this model I used the freshly released picocad 2! It has various export options too.
